INSTRUMENT PANEL - GLOVE BOX (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the RH instrument panel end cap. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - END CAP - SUBSTRATE - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  2. For NA vehicles only: Remove the front passenger knee airbag. See KNEE AIRBAG - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release locking tab then release connector to disconnect glove box USB cable from car computer.
  4. Remove clip securing passenger footwell duct from glove box.
  5. Remove IP harness from glove box.
  6. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the glove box to the instrument panel carrier.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  7. Release the clips (x8), locator pins (x3) and datum that attach the glove box to the instrument panel carrier.

    Note
    Be careful not to damage the 2 electromagnetic switches on the both sides of the glove box.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the glove box.

Install

  1. Connect the electrical connectors (x2) to the glove box.
  2. Secure the clips (x8), locator pins (x3) and datum that attach the glove box to the instrument panel carrier.
  3. Install the screws (x4) that attach the glove box to the instrument panel carrier.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  4. Install clip securing passenger footwell duct to glove box.
  5. Install IP harness to glove box.
  6. Connect glove box USB cable to car computer.
  7. For NA vehicles only: Install the front passenger knee airbag. See KNEE AIRBAG - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - END CAP - SUBSTRATE - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
