Remove
- While performing the courtesy inspection, note any abnormal tire wear that could indicate the need for an alignment.
- Move the vehicle to a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2-Post Lift.
- Enter Service Mode Plus. See Service Mode Plus.
- Select .
- Click to run the routine.

Click , choose Both from the EPB Selection
drop-down menu and choose Start from the Action Selection
drop-down menu, and then click Run to perform the routine.
CAUTIONKeep pressing the braking pedal during routine running, as the vehicle can slide freely.NoteYou can choose one side as needed.
- Position subframe lifting tool and remove subframe and rear drive unit assembly away from vehicle. See Rear Subframe (Remove and Replace).
Install
- Position new RDU and crate underneath gantry.

Release protective covers from new RDU
and transfer them onto the old drive unit.

Secure drive unit sling onto the new
RDU.

Raise the gantry hook to put tension
on the sling.

Remove the bolts securing the RDU to
the RDU crate.

Lift the new RDU out of the shipping
crate.
- Lower sling to install drive unit into subframe.

Carefully lower the rear drive unit
into the rear subframe. As the rear drive unit is lowered, maneuver the half shafts into
the drive unit for later installation.
- Install the subframe and rear drive unit assembly away to vehicle. See Rear Subframe (Remove and Replace).
- Reconnect the laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle. See Toolbox (Connect and Disconnect).
- Install a LV maintainer. See LV Maintainer (Connect and Disconnect) (Maintenance).
- On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap , and allow the routine to complete.
- Tap , and allow the routine to complete.
- Tap , and allow the routine to complete.
- Once the reinstallation is complete, check that the release notes appear on the touchscreen, indicating a successful reinstallation.

Selection drop-down menu and choose Stop from the Action Selection drop-down menu,
and then click Run
to perform the routine.

- Disconnect the LV maintainer. See LV Maintainer (Connect and Disconnect) (Maintenance).

Inspect the coolant level, top off as
necessary, and then install the coolant bottle cap.
NoteEnsure that the coolant level is at the "Max" line.
- Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Install the HEPA filter assembly See HEPA Filter Assembly (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Close the hood.
- Move both front seats to original position.
- Raise all windows and close all doors.
- Remove the lift arms from below the vehicle.
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
