Note
If the hood latch does not open
electronically, use the manual front trunk release tool to open the hood.

CAUTION
When using the manual front trunk release tool in Mobile Service,
raise the vehicle using mini ramps and verify stability of the vehicle.
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace) or Underhood Storage Unit (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).

Disconnect the electrical connector
from the hood latch.

Release the hood latch
actuator cable from the hood latch.
NoteRelease the clip before removing the actuator cable from the latch arm.

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
hood latch to the front end carrier, and then remove the latch from the vehicle.
NoteMark the hood latch location on the front end carrier.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
Install

Install the hood latch to the front
end carrier, and adjust the latch actuator position based on marks.

Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the hood latch to the front end carrier.
8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)NoteFully tighten the bolts before adjustment. The latch may move if the bolts are only hand-tightened.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 10 mm socket

Install the hood latch actuator cable
to the hood latch.
NoteSecure the cable end to the latch arm, and then attach the clip.

Connect the electrical connector to
the hood latch.

Close the hood and verify alignment is
within specification. If necessary, loosen the bolts that attach the hood latch to the
front end carrier, adjust the hood latch, and then fully tighten the bolts (x2)
8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)CAUTIONDo not adjust the hood striker. Only make small adjustments to the hood latch, and then make sure the bolts are fully tightened.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 10 mm socket
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace) or Underhood Storage Unit (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
- Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to
- Tap Frunk Latch Metric Reset, tap Confirm, and then tap Run and allow the routine to complete.
- Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
