Note
If the hood latch does not open electronically, use the manual front trunk tool specified below to open the hood.
  • 1130534-00-A, TOOL, FRUNK RELEASE, MANUAL
  1. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the hood latch.
  3. Release the hood latch actuator cable from the hood latch.

    Note
    Release the clip before removing the actuator cable from the latch arm.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the hood latch to the front end carrier, and then remove the latch from the vehicle.

    Mark the hood latch location on the front end carrier.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the hood latch to the front end carrier, but do not fully torque the bolts, and adjust the latch actuator position based on marks.
  2. Install the hood latch actuator cable to the hood latch.

    Note
    Secure the cable end to the latch arm, and then attach the clip.
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the hood latch.
  4. Close the hood and verify alignment is within specification. If necessary, open the hood and repeat step 1 and step 3 until alignment is satisfactory.
  5. Fully tighten the bolts.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
