Cowl Assembly (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install)

Torque Specifications

10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
  • 10 mm socket
 Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Release the clips (x14) that attach the cowl assembly to the body.
    Note
    Fold the rear flap of the frunk forward to gain access to the clips.
    Note
    Lift the cowl clips (x2) up to release the cowl bracket.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the cowl assembly to the body, and then remove it from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the cowl assembly to the body.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  2. Install the clips (x14) that attach the cowl assembly to the body.
    CAUTION
    Make sure that the washer line are not pinched between the cowl assembly and the body.
    Note
    Fold the rear flap of the frunk back to access the front row of cowl clips.
    Note
    Replace any missing or damaged clips.
  3. Close the hood.
  4. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
