- Release the spring clip, disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the radiator, and then plug the hose and radiator.
- Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
- Disconnect the cooling fan module electrical connector.
- Position a transmission jack under the cooling fan module assembly to prevent it from falling.
-
Remove the bolts (x2) that
attach the LH and RH of the cooling fan module to the ankle catcher.
NoteBe careful not to lose the bolt washer.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- Carefully lower the transmission jack and the cooling fan module to gain access to the ambient temperature sensor.
- Release the tabs (x2) and attach the ambient temperature sensor to the active grille shutter.
- Carefully remove the ambient temperature sensor cover from the active grille shutter, and then move the connector out through the opening.
- Remove the cooling fan module assembly from the vehicle.
- Release the tabs (x14) that attach the active grille shutter to the cooling fan module.
Install
- Install the tabs (x14) that attach the active grille shutter to the cooling fan module.
- Position the cooling fan module on the transmission jack and raise the jack to a suitable height to access the working area.
- Feed the ambient temperature sensor through the opening of the active grille shutter, and then install the tabs (x2) that attach the sensor to the active grille shutter.
- Install the ambient temperature sensor cover.
- Raise the transmission jack to position the cooling fan module assembly into the vehicle, and then loosely install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and RH of the cooling fan module to the ankle catcher.
-
Torque the bolts (x2) that
attach the LH and RH of the cooling fan module to the ankle catcher.6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- Remove the transmission jack from underneath the vehicle.
