Soft Trim Cover - Seat Cushion - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace)

Equipment:
  • 1082477-03-A - Needle Nose Pliers

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. On the touchscreen, tap the vehicle icon at the bottom left corner, then tap Controls > Steering Wheel, and use the left steering wheel roller to adjust the steering column to the highest and most inward position.
  3. Remove the LH lower A-pillar assembly. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove and discard the bolts (x4) that secure the driver seat assembly. See 1st Row Seat- LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH front seat harness to the sill trim.
  6. Pull the LH front seat harness out from under the LH front cabin carpet.
  7. Use cloth to cover the center console and the rear seat to prevent damage.
  8. Tilt the LH front seat backward.
  9. Remove the LH front seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace).
    Note
    No need to separate the button switches from the side shield.
  10. Unhook the clips (x2) that attach the lower section of the seat back cover and move the seat back flap away from the working area.
  11. Disconnect the seat back heater connector, and then separate the heater connector from the seat underside.
  12. Disconnect the seat pad heater connector, and then separate the connector from the seat underside.
  13. Disconnect LH front seat occupancy sensor and set sensor harness pigtail aside.
  14. Disconnect the seat occupied sensor connector, and then release the clip that attaches the sensor to the seat underside.
  15. Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion to the seat suspension.
  16. Release the clip strips (x3) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame at the front, inboard, and outboard sides.
    CAUTION
    Make sure that the seat cushion heater pad connector and the seat occupied sensor assembly do not catch on the seat suspension or frame.
  17. Remove the driver seat cushion foam pad assembly from the seat frame assembly.
    Note
    Ensure the heating pad and seat occupied sensor harnesses are clear of the seat frame.
  18. Release the strap that attaches the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  19. Remove the Velcro strips (x4) and hog rings (x8) that attach the seat cushion cover to the foam pad, and then remove the cover from the foam pad.
    Note
    Be cautious while release the Velcro strips to avoid any damage on the foam pad.
    Note
    Use 1082477-03-A to help remove the hog rings.

Install

  1. Install the Velcro strips (x4) and hog rings (x8) that attach the seat cushion cover onto the seat cushion foam pad.
    Note
    Massage the Velcro to make sure the cover and the foam pad are perfectly fit.
  2. Attach the strap that attaches the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  3. Install the seat cushion foam pad assembly onto the seat frame assembly.
  4. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion to the seat suspension.
  5. Install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame, and then fasten the clip strips (x3) that attach the seat cushion to the frame at the outboard and inboard sides, and at the front.
    Note
    Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly pass through the seat suspension or frame.
  6. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat occupancy sensor to the seat underside.
  7. Connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat occupied sensor connector.
  8. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat pad heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat pad heater connector.
  9. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat back heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat back heater connector.
  10. Attach the clips (x2) that attach the lower section of the seat back cover to the seat suspension.
  11. Install the LH front seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace).
  12. Position the driver seat assembly in the upright position.
  13. Remove the protection cloth.
  14. Install the LH front seat harness under the LH front cabin carpet.
  15. Route the 1st row LH seat harness under the LH front carpet, position the harness in the harness guide, and then install the clips (x4) that attach the harness to the sill trim.
    Note
    Tuck the excess harness between the harness bracket and body.
  16. Install the LH lower A-pillar assembly. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install new bolts (x4) that secure the driver seat assembly. See 1st Row Seat- LH (Remove and Install).
  18. Move the LH front seat to its original position.
  19. Move the steering wheel to its original position.
  20. Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
