Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Stands
  2. Open the LH front door.
  3. Lower the LH front window.
  4. Run ODIN routine
  5. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  6. Access the chassis system routines using the vehicle UI. Select Chassis > Brakes.
  7. Run ODIN routine PROC_EPB_X_SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode:
    • Chassis ➜ Brakes ➜ EPB Service Mode
    • Chassis ➜ Brakes ➜ EPB Service Mode
    via Service Mode Plus: Drive Unit ➜ Rear Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Release / Re-Engage Emergency Parking Brake

  8. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install)
  9. Disconnect the LH rear electronic parking brake caliper connector.

    1x connector. Release the red locking tab.
  10. Remove and discard the LH rear brake caliper motor.

    2x bolts. 5 mm hex.
  11. Remove and discard the old O-ring from LH rear brake caliper.

Install

  1. Install a new O-ring onto LH rear brake caliper.

    Install the new O-ring provided in the service kit.
  2. Install a new LH rear brake caliper motor.

    Note
    2x bolts, 5 mm hex. Install the new bolts provided in the service kit.
    10.8 Nm (8.0 lbs-ft)
  3. Connect the LH rear electronic parking brake caliper connector.

    1x connector. Engage the red locking tab.
  4. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install)
  5. Fully lower the vehicle.

    Note
    Raise the lift off of the locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  6. Run ODIN routine PROC_EPB_X_SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode:
    • Chassis ➜ Brakes ➜ EPB Service Mode
    • Chassis ➜ Brakes ➜ EPB Service Mode
    via Service Mode Plus: Drive Unit ➜ Rear Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Release / Re-Engage Emergency Parking Brake

  7. Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_EXIT-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link).
  8. Raise the LH front window.
  9. Close the LH front door.
  10. Remove the vehicle from the lift.

    Fully lower the rack arms and remove them from under the vehicle.
