Torque Specifications

Bolts (x2) and O-ring that attach the LH rear brake caliper motor to the vehicle.
10.8 Nm (8.0 lbs-ft)
  • SKT, 1/4" DR, HEX BIT, METRIC, 5MM
Replace New bolts (x2) and O-ring provided in the service kit

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2-Post Lift
  2. Open the LH front door.
  3. Lower the LH front window.
  4. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  5. While holding the brake pedal, tap the Service Mode "wrench" at the bottom of the touchscreen UI, and then tap Chassis > Brakes > EPB Service Mode, select Both in the EPB Selection drop down list, and select Start in the Action Selection drop down list. Click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  6. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install)
  7. Disconnect the LH rear electronic parking brake caliper connector.

    Note
    Release the red locking tab.
  8. Remove and discard the bolts that attach the LH rear brake caliper motor to the vehicle.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • SKT, 1/4" DR, HEX BIT, METRIC, 5MM
  9. Remove and discard the old O-ring from the LH rear brake caliper.

Replace

  1. Install a new O-ring onto the LH rear brake caliper.

    Install the new O-ring provided in the service kit.
  2. Install a new LH rear brake caliper motor.
    10.8 Nm (8.0 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • SKT, 1/4" DR, HEX BIT, METRIC, 5MM

    Note
    Install the new bolts provided in the service kit.
  3. Connect the LH rear electronic parking brake caliper connector.

    Engage the red locking tab.
  4. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install)
  5. Fully lower the vehicle.

    Note
    Raise the lift off of the locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  6. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Chassis > Brakes > EPB Service Mode, select Both in the EPB Selection dropping list, and select Stop in the Action Selection dropping list. Click Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    The EPB Selection field can also be selected as Left/Right as needed.
  7. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  8. Raise the LH front window.
  9. Close the LH front door.
  10. Remove the vehicle from the lift.

    Fully lower the rack arms and remove them from under the vehicle.
