DOOR PRESSURE SENSOR (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door, and lower the LH front window.
  2. Disconnect LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the LH tweeter. See Tweeter - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH front door reflector. See DOOR REFLECTOR (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the trim panel to the LH front door.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  6. Use a plastic trim tool to insert the inflatable air bag to the lower left corner of the LH front door trim, then inflate it to release the lower left clip(s).
  7. Continue to pull and release all of the clips around the edge of the trim panel, working from the bottom up.

    CAUTION
    Do not pull the trim panel far away from the door as the panel is still attached by connectors and cables.
  8. Put the LH front door trim panel on a padded and stable support.

    Do not pull the trim panel far away from the door as the panel is still attached by connectors and cables.
  9. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the LH front door pressure sensor electrical connector.
  10. Twist the tabs counterclockwise and remove the LH front door pressure sensor from the closeout panel.

Install

  1. Position the LH front door pressure sensor onto the closeout panel, and then twist the tabs clockwise to secure it to the panel.

    Note
    Verify the sensor is locked in place.
  2. Connect the LH front door pressure sensor electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.
  3. Lift the trim panel, compress the LH front door inner belt seal slightly, and then hook the trim panel tabs into the top edge of the door.
  4. Fasten the clips that attach the trim panel to the door.

    Note
    Replace any broken clips.
  5. Make sure that the trim panel fits tightly, and that there are no gaps from misaligned or bent clips.
  6. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the trim panel to the LH front door.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Make sure that all fasteners are properly torqued and not cross-threaded.

  7. Install the LH front door reflector. See DOOR REFLECTOR (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH tweeter. See Tweeter - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Connect LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Close the door and verify the operation of the manual door release lever, that the door latch releases smoothly and easily.
  11. Raise the LH front window and close the door.
