Door Latch - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front door closeout panel assembly. See Closeout Panel - Window Regulator - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    It is not necessary to remove the LH front door pressure sensor, window motor, door speaker and the window regulator from the door closeout panel assembly.
  2. Disconnect the LH front door electrical harness from the LH front door latch connector.
  3. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH front door latch to the front of the LH front door.

    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  4. Press the latch cable grommet in through the door, and move the cable in through the opening while simultaneously removing the latch from the door.

Install

  1. Feed the latch cable through the opening, and then install the grommet.
  2. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the LH front door latch to the front of the LH front door.
    13 Nm (9.6 lbs-ft)

  3. Connect the LH front door electrical harness to the LH front door latch connector.
  4. Install the LH front door closeout panel assembly. See Closeout Panel - Window Regulator - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox (Connect and Disconnect).
  6. In Toolbox 3.0, click the Actions tab, type "Self Test" into the search field, click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_FRONT-L_DOORvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  7. Exit Service Mode or disconnect the laptop if applicable (see 0005 - Service Modes).
