FRONT MTR MT - LEFT HAND_ISOLATOR. (Remove and Replace)

Replace 1110188-00-B

Remove

  1. Disconnect the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Release the clips (x2) that attach the RH front brake line to the LH front rail panel.
  3. Apply masking tape on the RH front brake line and the LH front rail panle.
  4. Perform vehicle HV disablement procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
  5. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  6. Release the clip that attaches the chiller to HV battery hose to the vehicle.
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the front drive unit HV harness to the front drive unit.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  8. Slide the red release tab to unlock the front drive unit HV harness connector, and then slowly unlatch the release handle on the front drive unit HV harness connector, and then disconnect the connector from the front drive unit.

    CAUTION
    Do not apply excessive force to the handle; doing so could damage the connector alignment tabs.

    Make sure that the alignment tabs on the front drive unit header are not damaged.
  9. Place the front drive unit stand and the underhoist stand under the front drive unit.

    Align the stand with the drive unit mounting position.

    Stop lifting once the front drive unit stand reaches the correct position.
  10. Remove the front drive unit harness from the casting, and then move the harness aside.
  11. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH motor mount to the LH motor mount isolator.

    • External Torx E18
  12. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the LH motor mount isolator to the vehicle.

    • Torque wrench with angle measurement
  13. Position a ladder at the front of the vehicle.

    Ensure the ladder is stable and secure to provide safe access for performing the required steps in the frunk area.

    Note
    This is to access the frunk area when the car is raised on a 2-post lift and the front drive unit (FDU) is supported by a transmission jack.
  14. Remove and discard the upper bolt that attaches the LH motor mount isolator to the vehicle.

    Note
    Once the upper bolt is removed, the LH mount isolator will no longer be secured to the vehicle, and grab it to avoid falling.

    • External Torx EP14
    • Torque wrench with angle measurement
  15. With assistance, lift the LH mount isolator up and pivot slightly forward then slide it up to remove it from the vehicle.

    Take care of not damaging the brake line or the front rail panel.

    Recommended assistance below the vehicle to move the transmission jack as needed.

Install

  1. Install an O-ring to the end of each new bolts which are used to attach the LH motor mount isolator to the body.
  2. With assistance, push the LH mount isolator down and pivot slightly backwards to install it.

    Take care of not damaging the brake line or the front rail panel.

    Recommended assistance below the vehicle to move the transmission jack as needed.
  3. Hand-tighten the new bolts (x3) that attach the LH motor mount isolator to the body.

    The O-rings on the new bolts will properly align with the LH mount isolator.
  4. Tighten the bolts (x3) that attach the LH motor mount isolator to the body.
    62 Nm (45.7 lbs-ft)

  5. Remove the ladder.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the LH motor mount to the LH motor mount isolator.
    105 Nm (77.4 lbs-ft)

    Adjust the subframe jig to align the bolt hole, if needed.

    • External Torx E18
  7. Remove the front drive unit stand and the underhoist stand from underneath the front drive unit.
  8. Install the HV connector lever lock to the front drive unit HV cable connector.
  9. Install the front drive unit harness to the casting.
  10. Align the connector to the front drive unit, and then remove the HV connector lever lock before fully latching the connector.
  11. Slowly latch the release handle while pressing the front drive unit HV harness connector into the front drive unit.

    Once connected, verify that the locking tab is not damaged and the front drive unit HV connector is fully secured in the latched position.
  12. Install the bolt that attaches the front drive unit HV harness to the front drive unit.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

  13. Install the clip that attaches the chiller to HV battery hose to the vehicle.
  14. Install the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See 2ND ROW SEAT CUSHION (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the masking tape from the RH front brake line and the LH front rail panle.
  17. Install the clips (x2) that attach the RH front brake line to the LH front rail panel.
  18. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
