Cover - Ancillary Bay (7-Seat) (Remove and Replace)

  • 1108272-00-B Cap, Logic Conn, Inv, 3DU

Remove

  1. Remove the 2nd row LH seat assembly. See .
  2. Remove the 2nd row RH seat assembly. See .
  3. Remove 3rd row LH and RH seat cushion bolsters. See GUID-ED915A40-010C-4826-8D6D-849C92344E94.html.
  4. Remove 3rd row rear cabin carpet. See GUID-ADFA5D47-C4A6-4748-9E1F-E4C8F65E44EE.html.
  5. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  6. Set the multimeter to measure voltage, and then measure the voltage across the LV auxiliary battery terminals.

    CAUTION
    If the voltage across the battery terminals is less than 13 volts or greater than 16 volts, the multimeter is not measuring reliably and must not be used.
  7. Disconnect the connector and then remove the 3rd row NVH insulator.
  8. Install the HV controller logic cap.
  9. Remove all jewelry and empty your pockets before continuing this procedure.
  10. Inspect and put on HV insulating gloves, leather outer gloves, and safety glasses before continuing this procedure.
  11. Release the positive LV output cover from the PCS cable.
  12. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the PCS cable to the LV passthrough output.

    • 13 mm 12-point deep socket
  13. Remove the ancillary bay probe lid cover. See Probe Lid - Ancillary Bay Cover - HV Battery (Remove and Replace).
  14. Use the high voltage multimeter with CAT III probes to verify that no high voltage is present at the rear drive unit HV header.

    In order to limit potential exposure to high voltage, measure for high voltage in the order specified below.
    Measure the following voltages:
    1. B+ to ground
    2. B- to ground
    3. B+ to B-

    Warning
    If any voltage is greater than 10V, the contactors are closed or welded. Escalate to Service Engineering.
  15. Use IPA wipes to clean the ancillary bay cover, and allow 1 minute to dry.
  16. Inspect the ancillary bay probe lid cover gasket, confirm no visual damage present.
  17. Use IPA wipes to clean the ancillary bay cover again, and allow 1 minute to dry.
  18. Install the ancillary bay probe lid cover. See Probe Lid - Ancillary Bay Cover - HV Battery (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the ancillary bay cover to the HV controller.

  20. Remove the bolts (x18) that attach the ancillary bay cover to the HV battery.

    The fasteners are captive and will stay attached to the ancillary bay cover.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • External Torx E10 5-Lobe without magnet
  21. Remove the HV controller logic cap.
  22. Remove the ancillary bay cover from the HV battery.

    Warning
    Remove the ancillary bay cover from the vehicle while standing outside the vehicle to reduce the risk of falling into the open HV battery.

    CAUTION
    For EMEA only: Install a Service Cover on the Ancillary Bay if required due to training requirements. E.g. for pyrotechnic disconnect replacement by technicians who are not certified for all Ancillary Bay procedures.

Install

  1. Inspect the ancillary bay walls for damage.

    Note
    Any dent or depression in the sealing surface that causes it to not be flat will result in a leak. Any paint that comes off the ancillary bay wall, whether or not it sticks to the seal, will require enclosure leak test when reassembled.
  2. Inspect the ancillary bay cover seal to confirm it has no visual damage.

    Note
    Delaminated and torn seals cannot be reused.
  3. Use IPA wipes to clean the ancillary bay cover, and allow 1 minute to dry.
  4. Position the ancillary bay cover to the HV battery for installation.

    Ensure all accessible insulators are present.
  5. Remove the leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves.
  6. Install the bolts (x18) that attach the ancillary bay cover to the HV battery.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    Follow torque sequence per image.

  7. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the ancillary bay cover to the HV controller.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft) + 30 degrees

  8. Install a new nut that attaches the PCS cable to the LV passthrough output.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)

    Mark the nut after torque.

  9. Install the positive LV output cover to the PCS cable.
  10. Remove the HV controller logic cap.
  11. Install the 3rd row NVH insulator and then connect the connector.
  12. Install 3rd row rear cabin carpet. See GUID-ADFA5D47-C4A6-4748-9E1F-E4C8F65E44EE.html.
  13. Install 3rd row LH and RH seat cushion bolsters. See GUID-ED915A40-010C-4826-8D6D-849C92344E94.html.
  14. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  15. Install the 2nd row RH seat assembly. See .
  16. Install the 2nd row LH seat assembly. See .
  17. Place the vehicle in Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  18. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  19. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_VCLEFT_X_2R-SEAT-RECLINE-CALIBRATIONvia Service Mode:Low Voltage ➜ Second Row Seats ➜ Calibratevia Toolbox:(link)
  20. Exit Service Mode or disconnect the laptop if applicable (see 0005 - Service Modes).
