Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the liftgate applique. See Applique - Liftgate (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
  2. Apply tape to the liftgate under the liftgate applique carrier.
  3. Loosen the bolts (x4) that attach the liftgate applique carrier to the liftgate.

    Note
    Do not release the clips. Leave the liftgate applique carrier attached to the liftgate.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the liftgate handle, and then loosen the tabs (x2) to remove the handle from the liftgate applique carrier.

Install

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the liftgate handle, and then position the handle onto the liftgate applique carrier.
  2. Fasten the bolts (x4) that attach the liftgate applique carrier to the liftgate.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

  3. Remove the tape from the liftgate.
  4. Install the liftgate applique. See Applique - Liftgate (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
