- Remove oil pump assembly and allow fluid to drain.
-
Remove fill plug from rear drive
unit.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3/8 inch ratchet with rotary disc changeover RTCH-REV-3/8IN-72TEETH-L175MM ZEBRA
- DR, HEX BIT, METRIC, 8MM
- Wait for 10 minutes for the oil to naturally flow out until it reaches the droplet state.
-
Inspect seals and O-rings.
NoteReplace all O-rings on oil pump if damaged, check seal on oil filter, if missing check if still on housing and remove before install.

- External Torx Plus EP10
- 3/8 inch ratchet with rotary disc changeover RTCH-REV-3/8IN-72TEETH-L175MM ZEBRA
- Install the new oil filter.
- Set up the fill kit with KAF 1, fill the measuring container to 2300ml.
- Connect the 12V power supply to the oil pump.
-
Install the fluid transfer pump.
NoteTrim both the input and output hoses to 26", insert the output hose into the fill hole until fully seated, and then pull back 5mm.
- Place the measured fluid container in the drain basket, fully submerge the input hose, then prime the pump with KAF 1 fluid.
-
With assistance, pump KAF 1 fluid into
the rear drive unit.
NoteThe minimum refill capacity of the rear drive unit assembly is 2.1 liters. Using excess gearbox fluid in the fill container allows the oil pump to dispense the full 2.1L without drawing air. Make sure that there is less than 200mL left when completed. Pumping the full 2.3 liters is not required.NoteThe assistant will run the oil pump switch box using XP-10 Jump Pack and have the rear drive unit fill plug ready for installation.NoteDo not run the pump dry. Pump 5 full strokes from fluid container while simultaneously running the oil pump switch box for entire fill process. Keep running the oil pump switch box until the drain plug is installed in the next step. If the pump is not running or the drain plug is not installed, fluid will drain from plug within 10 seconds.
-
Install the fill plug into the rear drive unit.15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
