Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the LH rear suspension cover. See Rear Suspension Cover - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Lower vehicle partially and set onto locks.
  4. Position and raise the underhoist stand to simulate the suspension at ride height.
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear damper to the body at the top mount.

    • 15 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear damper to the lower aft link.

  7. Remove the LH rear damper from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Place LH rear damper into position for installation.
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear damper to the lower aft link.
    115 Nm (84.8 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 21 mm socket
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear damper to the body at the top mount.
    41 Nm (30.2 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  4. Remove bolt securing LH rear rotor to LH rear hub.
  5. Install hub jack adapter onto LH rear hub.
  6. Position and raise support stand to simulate LH rear suspension at ride height.
  7. Measure the distance between the bottom of the quarter panel and the center of the rear axle to make sure that the rear suspension is set to ride height. The distance should measure 428 mm..
  8. Torque bolt securing LH rear damper assembly to LH rear lower aft link.
  9. Remove support stand from underneath LH rear suspension.
  10. Remove hub jack adapter from LH rear hub.
  11. Install bolt securing LH rear rotor to LH rear hub.
  12. Install the LH rear suspension cover. See Rear Suspension Cover - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  14. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
