Remove

  1. Open the LH rear door.
  2. Lower the LH rear window.
  3. Remove the LH rear fender garnish from the vehicle.

    11x clips, 2x tabs, Release from center of garnish and work your way outward towards both ends, Using clip prytool release clips at rear of fascia to avoid damage to garnish
  4. Remove the screw that secure the LH rear fascia to the body.

    1x screw, 8mm, 2 Nm
  5. Remove the LH tail lamp. See Tail Lamp - LH (Body Side) (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the bolt that secures the LH corner of the rear fascia to the body.

  7. Open the RH rear door.
  8. Lower the RH rear window.
  9. Remove the RH rear fender garnish from the vehicle.

  10. Remove the screw securing the RH rear fascia to the body.

  11. Remove the RH tail lamp. See Tail Lamp - LH (Body Side) (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the bolt that secures the RH corner of the rear fascia to the body,

  13. Remove the rear fascia diffuser front bolts (x2)

  14. Release the rear fascia diffuser.

    7x bolts, 10mm, The five center bolts 5 Nm, both outside bolts 4 Nm, 6x push clips, 2x fastener covers
  15. Release the rear fascia assembly from the body.

    1x connector, Disengage locking tab, Recommend assistance, Place rear fascia on padded surface to avoid damage

Install

  1. Secure the rear fascia assembly onto the body.

  2. Secure the rear fascia diffuser.

    7x bolts, 10mm, The five center bolts 5 Nm, both outside bolts 4 Nm, 6x push clips, 2x fastener covers, Apply Loctite 222 onto bolts
  3. Install the rear fascia diffuser front bolts.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Apply Loctite 222 onto rear aero shield bolts
  4. Install the bolt that secures the RH corner of the rear fascia to the body.

  5. Install the RH tail lamp. See Tail Lamp - LH (Body Side) (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the screw that secures the RH corner of the rear fascia to the body.

  7. Install the RH rear fender garnish.

    11x clips, 2x tabs, Install ends of garnish into rocker panel and rear diffuser then work your way from rear towards front of garnish
  8. Raise the RH rear window.
  9. Close the RH rear door.
  10. Install the bolt that secures the LH corner of the rear fascia to the body.

  11. Install the LH tail lamp. See Tail Lamp - LH (Body Side) (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the screw that secures the LH rear fascia to the body.

  13. Install the LH rear fender garnish to the vehicle.

    11x clips, 2x tabs, Install ends of garnish into rocker panel and rear diffuser then work your way from rear towards front of garnish
  14. Return the 2nd row 60 seatback to vertical position.

    Via trunk seat switch, Remove seatback protection if necessary
  15. Close the liftgate.
  16. Raise the LH rear window.
  17. Close the LH rear door.
