Actuators - Recliner - 3rd Row Seat (7-Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open all four doors.
  2. Lower all four windows.
  3. Move LH front seat forward.
  4. Position LH seat into easy entry mode.
  5. Move RH front seat forward.
  6. Position RH seat into easy entry mode.
  7. Open liftgate.
  8. Remove trunk load floor from vehicle.
  9. Remove trunk sill trim from vehicle.
  10. Remove LH and RH load floor bracket from vehicle.
  11. Remove trunk tub from vehicle.
  12. Open hood.
  13. Power off vehicle from center display.
  14. Remove rear apron.
  15. Remove HEPA filter assembly.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot rear edge up past brake reservoir then lift up to clear frunk assembly.
  16. Disconnect LV battery and first responder loop.

    2x connectors, Ensure that one minute has passed after window movement before performing the power-off, Release green locking tab, Press black tab then pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge
  17. Remove 3rd row seat cushion.

  18. Remove 3rd row LH seat cushion bolster.

    1x bolt, 11mm, 37 Nm, 1x location pin, 1x tab, Slide LH seat cushion bolster towards front of vehicle to remove
  19. Remove 3rd row LH seat angle adjuster cover from inner B-cover.

    3x tabs, First lift upward, then remove by pulling forward.
  20. Release clip securing 3rd row RH seat frame harness to seat cushion bolster.
  21. Remove 3rd row RH seat cushion bolster.

    1x bolt, 11mm, 37 Nm, 1x location pin, 1x tab, slide RH seat cushion bolster towards front of vehicle to remove.
  22. Remove bolt securing 3rd row LH seatbelt and seatback.

    1x bolt, 11mm, 37 Nm, Discard bolt after removal.
  23. Remove bolt securing 3rd row RH seatbelt and seatback.

  24. Disconnect 3rd row RH seat frame harness connector.
  25. Remove inner bolts securing 3rd row seatback complete to body.

    2x bolts, 11mm, 37 Nm, Discard bolts after removal.
  26. Remove lateral bolts securing rear of 3rd row seat back.
  27. Remove 3rd row seatback complete from vehicle.

    Note
    2x location pins, First lift up, then move the entire body backward, remove 3rd row seatback complete through the liftgate, recommended assistant assistance.
  28. Remove RH and LH inner covers and seatback covers.

    Note
    Pry inner and outer push clips from each side before maneuvering inner covers out. Pull cover away up from seatback to remove properly.
  29. Remove RH recliner actuator.

    2x Fasteners, 1x retainer clip, Torx T20 Rotate wire end to successfully remove from seat frame.
  30. Remove LH recliner actuator.

Install

  1. Install RH recliner actuator.

  2. Install LH recliner actuator.

    2x Fasteners, 1x retainer clip, Torx T20 Rotate wire end to successfully lock wire end into frame
  3. Install RH and LH inner covers and seatback covers.

    Maneuver inner covers into position and install inner and outer push clips.
  4. Install 3rd row seatback complete onto vehicle.

  5. Install lateral bolts securing rear of 3rd row seat back.
  6. Install inner bolts securing 3rd row seatback complete to body.

    2x bolts, 11mm, 37 Nm, install new bolts, Install bolts hand tight, torque at later step.
  7. Install bolt securing 3rd row RH seat belt and seat back.

  8. install bolt securing 3rd row LH seat belt and seat back.

  9. Connect 3rd row RH seat frame harness connector.
  10. Install 3rd row RH seat cushion bolster.

  11. Install clip securing 3rd row RH seat frame harness to seat cushion bolster.
  12. Install 3rd row LH outer cover to inner B-cover.

    3x tabs, Insert from front to back, confirm alignment of the position, then press downward.
  13. Install 3rd row LH seat cushion bolster.

    1x bolt, 11mm, 37 Nm, 1x location pin, 1x tab, slide LH seat cushion bolster into seat frame complete.
  14. Install 3rd row seat cushion and connect harness.

    1x connector, secure 3rd row seat cushion into RH and LH latches.
  15. Connect first responder loop and LV battery.

    2x connectors, secure FRL first, seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, engage green locking tab when fully seated.
  16. Install HEPA filter assembly.

    2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, Do not pinch washer hose in between HEPA filter assembly and body.
  17. Install rear apron.

    16x trim clips, 3x locator pins, 2x clips, Replace any missing or damaged clips, ensure pyrotechnic hood actuators are aligned with openings in apron.
  18. Close hood.
  19. Install trunk tub onto vehicle.

    Maneuver RH and LH to seat trunk tub properly.
  20. Install RH load floor bracket onto vehicle.
  21. Install LH load floor bracket onto vehicle.
  22. Install trunk sill trim and seat back covers.
  23. Install trunk load floor onto vehicle.
  24. Move LH seat to original position.
  25. Move LH front seat to original position.
  26. Move RH seat to original position.
  27. Move RH front seat to original position.
  28. Raise all four windows
  29. Close all four doors.

    If LV is powered up, unlatch rear doors before closing.
  30. Close liftgate.
