Seat Back Assembly - 3rd Row Seat (7-Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove 3rd row LH and RH seat cushion bolster. See GUID-ED915A40-010C-4826-8D6D-849C92344E94.html.
  2. Remove bolt securing 3rd row LH seat belt retractor to seat frame assembly.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket

    Note
    Discard bolt after removal.
  3. Remove rear load floor.
  4. Remove trunk sill trim.
  5. Remove LH trunk bracket.

    Note
    Confirm each installation with push-pull test.
  6. Remove RH trunk bracket.

    Note
    Confirm each installation with push-pull test, clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly, if clip position is changed or push-pull action shows bracket not secure, remove clip from tab and seat clip into doghouse on bracket and reinstall.
  7. Remove trunk tub carpet from vehicle.
  8. Remove outer bolts securing 3rd row seatback assembly to body.

    Discard bolts after removal.
  9. Remove inner bolts securing 3rd row seatback assembly to body.

    • 11 mm socket

    Note
    Discard bolts after removal.
  10. Remove 3rd row seatback complete from vehicle.

    Note
    2x location pins, first lift up, then move the entire body backward, remove 3rd row seatback complete through the liftgate, recommended assistant assistance.

Install

  1. Install 3rd row seatback complete onto vehicle.
  2. Loosely install inner bolts securing 3rd row seatback assembly to vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

    Install new bolts, install bolts hand tight, torque at later step.
  3. Loosely install outer bolts securing 3rd row seatback assembly to vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

  4. Loosely install bolt securing 3rd row RH retractor to seat frame assembly.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

  5. Install bolt securing 3rd row LH retractor to seat frame assembly .
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

    Install new bolt.
  6. Torque bolt securing 3rd row RH retractor to seat frame assembly.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

  7. Torque outer bolts securing 3rd row seatback assembly to vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

  8. Torque inner bolts securing 3rd row seatback assembly to vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)

  9. Install trunk tub carpet into vehicle.

    Newer vehicles may be equipped with 4 clips.
  10. Install RH trunk bracket.

    Confirm each installation with push-pull test, clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly, if clip position is changed or push-pull action shows bracket not secure, remove clip from tab and seat clip into doghouse on bracket and reinstall.
  11. Install LH trunk bracket

    2x guide tabs, 2x clips, confirm each installation with push-pull test, clip position should not be adjusted after bracket is removed or will result in bracket not seating properly, if clip position is changed or push-pull action shows bracket not secure, remove clip from tab and seat clip into doghouse on bracket and reinstall.
  12. Install trunk sill trim

    Seat seal around edge of trim.
  13. Install rear load floor.
