Map Light - Rear - LH (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Fold the 2nd row LH and center seat back to the down position.

    Protect the seat back upholstery if necessary.
  4. Move the LH front seat backward.

    If needed, on the touchscreen, touch Seat Controls, use the scroll wheel to move the seat.
  5. Tilt the LH front seat back backward.

    If needed, on the touchscreen, touch Seat Controls, use the scroll wheel to move the seat back.
  6. Remove the LH front primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH rear primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Rear - LH And RH (Remove and Replace)
  8. Release the clips (x6) and tabs (x2) that attach the upper portion of the LH lower B-pillar trim to the body, and then partially release the trim.

    This is to aid the following step on the LH upper B-pillar trim.

    Note
    All clips and datums are shown in the image for reference and clarity.
  9. Release the clips (x4) and locator pins (x2) that attach the LH upper B-pillar trim to the body.

    Note
    Pull the bottom of the LH upper B-pillar trim towards the inside of the vehicle, and then pull the top of the trim to release the remaining clips.
  10. Release the clips (x9) that attach the upper portion of the LH trunk side trim to the body to partially release the LH trunk trim.

    CAUTION
    Use caution to prevent straining the 12V socket harness at the rear of the trim.

    All clips and datums are shown in the image for reference and clarity.
  11. Release the clips (x7), tabs (x2) and datums (x5) that attach the LH upper C-pillar trim to the body, release the charge port manual release cable, and then rest the LH upper C-pillar on the trunk floor.
  12. Disconnect the LH rear map light connector, remove the screws (x3) the attach the LH rear map light to the headliner, and then remove the map light from the vehicle.

    Slightly pull the edge of the headliner down to gain access to the working area.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T10 bit
    • Digital Torque Screwdriver 0.10Nm - 2.0Nm

Install

  1. Connect the LH rear map light connector, and then install the screws (x3) the attach the LH rear map light to the headliner.
    0.5 Nm (4 lbs-in)

    Note
    Slightly pull the edge of the headliner down to gain access to the working area.

    Pull the headliner back once the map light is installed.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T10 bit
    • Digital Torque Screwdriver 0.10Nm - 2.0Nm
  2. Install the charge port manual release cable, and then install the clips (x7), tabs (x2) and datums (x5) that attach the LH upper C-pillar trim to the body.

    Note
    Make sure that the trunk seal correctly overlap the trim.
  3. Install the clips (x9) that attach the upper portion of the LH trunk side trim to the body.

    Make sure that all clips are properly engaged.

  4. Lower the LH front seatbelt slider to their lowest positions to align the LH front upper B-pillar trim with the B-pillar.
  5. Align the locator pins (x2) to the slots, and then install the clips (x4) that attach the LH upper B-pillar trim to the vehicle.

    Make sure that the door seal correctly overlaps the LH upper B-pillar trim.
  6. Install the clips (x6) and tabs (x2) that attach the upper portion of the LH lower B-pillar trim to the body,.

    Note

  7. Install the LH rear primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Rear - LH And RH (Remove and Replace)
  8. Install the LH front primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Return the LH front seat back to its original position.
  10. Return the 2nd row LH and center seat back to the vertical position.

    Remove the seat back upholstery if necessary.
  11. Close the liftgate.
  12. Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
