1ST ROW SEAT HARNESS - LEFT HAND - SEAT BELT REMINDER (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat assembly. See FIRST ROW LEFT HAND SEAT COMPLETE (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the driver seat back shell. See Shell - Seat Back - 1st Row (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the upper and lower flaps covering the outboard side of the seat back frame.

    Pull the flaps out of the metal retaining tabs to release them.
  4. Remove the upper and lower flaps covering the inboard side of the seat back frame.

  5. Release the driver seat back trim retainers (x7) from the driver seat back frame and then untie the locking flaps that cover the upper part of the seat back frame.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the driver seat back blower.
  7. Pull the seat upholstery away from the side air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector.
  8. Press and hold the black tabs on both sides and pull them down to disconnect the airbag electrical connector.
  9. Pull the seat upholstery away from the FSAB to gain access to the air bag electrical connector.
  10. Press and hold the black tabs on both sides and pull them down to disconnect the seat FSAB electrical connector.
  11. Remove part of the seat harness from the seat back frame.
  12. Disconnect the recliner motor connector.
  13. Disconnect the lumbar valve pack and ECU connector.
  14. Disconnect the lumbar pump connector.
  15. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield. See 1ST ROW OUTBOARD SIDESHIELD - FOR LEFT HAND SEAT - LUMBAR (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    Do not remove the seat cushion switch button, seat recliner switch button and the 8-way switch from the driver seat outboard side shield.
  16. Release the safety lock, and then disconnect the driver seat lap pretensioner electrical connector.
  17. Release the seat belt pretensioner harness bracket.

    Note
    Move the harness bracket forwards (towards the front of the vehicle) and then backwards to remove.
  18. Maneuver the seat to gain access to the underside.
  19. Disconnect the seat cushion blower connector.
  20. Disconnect the seat back heater connector, and then separate the heater connector from the seat underside.
  21. Disconnect the seat pad heater connector, and then separate the connector from the seat underside.
  22. Disconnect LH front seat occupancy sensor and set sensor harness pigtail aside.
  23. Remove the clip that attaches the harness to the seat underside.

    The clip is next to the seat heater connectors.
  24. Remove the clips (x3) that attach the track motor harness to the track motor bridge.
  25. Disconnect LH front seat track motor connector.
  26. Disconnect the tilt motor connector.
  27. Disconnect the height adjustment motor connector.
  28. Release the clip that attaches the LH front seat harness to the outboard seat track.
  29. Disconnect the seat belt buckle connector.
  30. Remove the seat belt buckle connector bracket.

    Move the bracket forwards (towards the front of the vehicle) and then backwards to remove.
  31. Remove the clips (x2) that attach the seat switch harness to the seat cushion frame.
  32. Remove the seat harness bracket from the seat frame.

    Use a 90 degree tip to release the clips (x3) from back of the bracket.
  33. Remove the seat harness assembly from the seat frame.

    Release the center harness support together with the harness.

Install

  1. Position the new seat harness for installation.

    Note
    With the wire harness bracket at the center, route the harness under the lift motor and the tilt motor, and place the harness legs in the correct locations. Harness clips will be installed later.
  2. Install the seat harness bracket to the seat base assembly.
  3. Install the seat belt buckle connector bracket.

    Move the bracket forwards (towards the front of the vehicle) and then backwards to install.
  4. Connect the seat belt buckle connector.
  5. Install the clips (x2) that attach the seat switch harness to the seat cushion frame.
  6. Install the clip that attaches the LH front seat harness to the outboard seat track.
  7. Connect the LH front seat track motor connector.
  8. Connect the height adjustment motor connector.
  9. Connect the tilt motor connector.
  10. Install the clips (x3) that attach the track motor harness to the track motor bridge.
  11. Install the clip that attaches the harness to the seat underside.

    The clip is next to the seat heater connectors.
  12. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat pad heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat pad heater connector.
  13. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat back heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the electrical wiring harness to the seat back heater connector.
  14. Connect the seat occupied sensor and install the sensor onto the seat harness bracket.

    Note
    Ensure the harness is not routed between the cushion and frame to avoid friction.
  15. Connect the seat cushion blower connector.
  16. Rotate the seat back to the upright position.
  17. Install the seat belt pretensioner harness bracket.

    Move the harness bracket forwards (towards the front of the vehicle), and then move it backwards to install.
  18. Connect the lap pretensioner electrical connector.

    Ensure the connector safety lock is engaged.
  19. Connect the lumbar pump connector.
  20. Connect the lumbar valve pack and ECU connector.
  21. Connect the recliner motor connector.
  22. Install part of the seat harness to the seat back frame.
  23. Connect the electrical connector to the driver seat back blower.
  24. Connect the driver seat side air bag electrical connector.
  25. Connect the driver seat FSAB electrical connector.
  26. Install the lower and upper flaps covering the inboard side of the seat back frame.

    Pull the flaps over the metal retaining tabs to secure them.
  27. Install the lower and upper flaps covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame.

  28. Tie the locking flaps that cover the upper part of the seat back frame and then install the driver seat back trim retainers (x7) to the driver seat back frame.
  29. Install the driver seat back shell. See Shell - Seat Back - 1st Row (Remove and Replace).
  30. Install the driver seat outboard side shield. See 1ST ROW OUTBOARD SIDESHIELD - FOR LEFT HAND SEAT - LUMBAR (Remove and Replace).
  31. Install the driver seat assembly. See FIRST ROW LEFT HAND SEAT COMPLETE (Remove and Install).
