Antennas and Amplifiers - TLA, Telematics Control Unit (TCU) (Remove and Install)

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window. Open the LH rear door and lower the LH rear window.
  2. Fold down the 2nd row 60 seat back.
  3. Open the RH rear door and lower the RH rear window.
  4. Fold down the 2nd row 40 seat back.
  5. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Remove the parcel shelf. Parcel Shelf (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the rear headliner trim. See Rear Headliner (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the TCU to the body, and then remove the TCU from the vehicle.

    CAUTION
    Do not pull the TCU too far from the vehicle, as the TCU is still attached by 2 electrical connectors.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm deep socket
  9. Release the hook that attaches the electrical harness to the TCU, and then release the connector locks, and then disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the TCU.

Install

  1. Connect the electrical connectors (x2) to the TCU, and then install the hook that attaches the electrical harness to the TCU.

    Note
    Make sure that the locking tabs are engaged.
  2. Position the TCU to the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the TCU to the body.
    14 Nm (10.3 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm deep socket
  3. Install the rear headliner trim. See Rear Headliner (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the parcel shelf. Parcel Shelf (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Return the 2nd row 40 seat back to the vertical position.
  7. Raise the RH rear window and close the RH rear door.
  8. Return the 2nd row 60 seat back to the vertical position.
  9. Raise the LH rear window and close the LH rear door. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
