Ground Strap - Rear Defrost (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Remove the lower liftgate trim. See Liftgate Lower Trim (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the rear defrost ground strap connector.
  3. Remove the bolt and clip that attach the rear defrost ground strap to the liftgate assembly, discard the bolt, and then remove the ground strap from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket

Install

  1. Install the clip and a new bolt that attach the rear defrost ground strap to the liftgate assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  2. Connect the rear defrost ground strap connector.
  3. Install the lower liftgate trim. See Liftgate Lower Trim (Remove and Replace).
