Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH lower A-pillar assembly. See A PILLAR LOWER TRIM - LEFT HAND (Remove and Install).
  3. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH front seat harness to the sill trim.
  4. Pull the LH front seat harness out from under the LH front cabin carpet.
  5. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  6. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the rear of the driver seat to body.

    • Torx Plus TP45 Bit Socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Move the seat fully rearward.
  8. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the front of the driver seat to body.

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  9. Tilt the LH front seat backward.

    Note
    No need to disconnect the LH seat harness from the body controller.
  10. Remove and discard the outboard bolts (x2) that attach the seat track to the seat cushion frame.

    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T45 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  11. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH front seat track motor connector.
  12. With assistance, remove the harness clips (x3) from the seat track motor bridge assembly.
  13. With assistance, release the outboard seat track from the track motor bridge.

    Note
    Pry up on the track motor bridge tab and slide the outboard seat track away to release.
  14. With assistance, release the track motor bridge from the inboard seat track.

    Pry up on the track motor bridge tab and slide the track motor bridge away from the inboard track.

Install

  1. With assistance, install the LH front seat track motor bridge assembly to the inboard seat track.

    Note
    The track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with the inboard track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the inboard track till it is fully and securely seated.
  2. With assistance, install the outboard seat track to the LH front seat track motor bridge assembly.

    Note
    The track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with the inboard track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the inboard track till it is fully and securely seated.
  3. Connect the track motor electrical connector.
  4. With assistance, install the harness clips (x3) to the LH front seat track motor bridge assembly.
  5. Install new outboard bolts (x2) (1660192-00-A) that attach the seat track to the seat cushion frame.
    38 Nm (28.0 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T45 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  6. Move the LH front seat to installation position.

    Note
    Take care when moving the seat. Ensure the carpet is not damaged.
  7. Route the 1st row LH seat harness under the LH front carpet, position the harness in the harness guide, and then install the clips (x4) that attach the harness to the sill trim.

    Tuck the excess harness between the harness bracket and body.
  8. Install the LH lower A-pillar assembly. See A PILLAR LOWER TRIM - LEFT HAND (Remove and Install).
  9. Move the LH front seat fully rearward.
  10. Install new bolts (x2) to attach the front of the driver seat to body.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)

  11. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  12. Install new bolts (x2) to attach the rear of the driver seat to body.
    33.5 Nm (24.7 lbs-ft)

  13. Calibrate the seat by using the touchscreen. Tap Controls > Service > Driver Seat, Steering & Mirrors Calibration > Start, then follow the instructions on the touchscreen, and allow the process to complete.
  14. Move the driver seat to original position.
  15. Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
