Microphone - Headliner (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Replace)

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Move the LH front seat backward.

    If needed, on the touchscreen, touch Seat Controls, use the scroll wheel to move the seat.
  3. Tilt the LH front seat back backward.

  4. Remove the LH front primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH rear primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Rear - LH And RH (Remove and Replace)
  8. Release the clips (x6) and tabs (x2) that attach the upper portion of the LH lower B-pillar trim to the body, and then partially release the trim.

    This is to aid the following step on the LH upper B-pillar trim.

    Note
    All clips and datums are shown in the image for reference and clarity.
  9. Release the clips (x4) and locator pins (x2) that attach the LH B-pillar upper trim to the body.

    Note
    Pull the bottom of the LH B-pillar upper trim towards the inside of the vehicle, and then pull the top of the trim to release the remaining clips.
  10. Disconnect the LH headliner microphone connector, remove the screws (x2) the attach the LH headliner microphone to the headliner, and then remove the microphone from the vehicle.

    Slightly pull the edge of the headliner down to gain access to the working area.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T10 bit
    • Digital Torque Screwdriver 0.10Nm - 2.0Nm

Install

  1. Connect the LH headliner microphone connector, and then install the screws (x2) the attach the LH headliner microphone to the headliner.
    0.65 Nm (6 lbs-in)

    Slightly pull the edge of the headliner down to gain access to the working area.

    Pull the headliner back once the microphone is installed.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T10 bit
    • Digital Torque Screwdriver 0.10Nm - 2.0Nm
  2. Lower the LH front seatbelt slider to their lowest positions to align the LH front upper B-pillar trim with the B-pillar.
  3. Align the locator pins (x2) to the slots, and then install the clips (x4) that attach the LH B-pillar upper trim to the vehicle.

    Note
    Make sure that the door seal correctly overlaps the LH B-pillar upper trim.
  4. Install the clips (x6) and tabs (x2) that attach the upper portion of the LH B-pillar lower trim to the body,.

  5. Install the LH rear primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Rear - LH And RH (Remove and Replace)
  6. Install the LH sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH front primary body seal. See Primary Body Seal - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Return the LH front seat back to its original position.
  10. Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
