Side Shield Assembly - 2nd Row Seat - LH (Model Y L) (Remove and Replace)

  • 2026-03-11: Updated the steps to release the inboard/outboard side shield.

Remove

  1. Remove the LH 2nd row seat recliner switch button. See Recline Button - Switch - 2nd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH 2nd row seat cushion switch button. See Button - Cushion Adjust - 2nd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH 2nd row side shield assembly. See Side Shield Assembly - 2nd Row Seat - LH (Model Y L) (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the seat switch to the LH 2nd row seat side shield assembly, and then separate the switch from the assembly.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  5. Release the clips (x4) that attach the armrest switch to the LH 2nd row seat side shield assembly, and then push the switch inward to detach it from the assembly.

Replace

  1. Install the armrest switch to the LH 2nd row side shield welding assembly by engaging all clips (x4) until an audible click is heard confirming correct seating.
  2. Install the screws (x3) that attach the seat switch to the LH 2nd row seat side shield assembly.
    0.7 Nm (6 lbs-in)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  3. Install the LH 2nd row side shield assembly. See Side Shield Assembly - 2nd Row Seat - LH (Model Y L) (Remove and Install).
  4. Install the LH 2nd row seat cushion switch button. See Button - Cushion Adjust - 2nd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH 2nd row seat recliner switch button. See Recline Button - Switch - 2nd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
