Reuse

Remove

  1. Place the vehicle in Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  2. Remove the HEPA filter assembly. See HEPA FILTER (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH rear door outer belt. See OUTER BELT - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the LH rear door window glass. See MOVING SIDE GLASS - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  7. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH rear window motor.
  8. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH rear door pressure sensor.
  9. Release the clip that attaches the manual latch release cable to the LH rear window closeout assembly.
  10. Release the clips (x3) that attach the LH rear door harness to the LH rear window closeout assembly.
  11. Remove the plugs (x2) that cover the LH rear window closeout assembly rail fasteners.
  12. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the LH rear window closeout assembly to the LH rear door.

    • 10 mm deep socket
  13. Remove the bolts (x11) that attach the LH rear window closeout assembly to the LH rear door, and then gently lift the closeout assembly upwards to release the datums and angle the bottom of the assembly from the door.

    CAUTION
    Never loosen or remove the nuts (x4) that attach the regulator arms to the assembly closeout panel.

  14. Disconnect the LH rear outer door handle connector.
  15. Disconnect the LH rear door electrical harness from the LH rear door latch connector.
  16. Release the harness clips (x7) from the LH rear door.
  17. Release the grommet between the 2 hinges, and then release the clips (x2) that attach the electrical harness connector to the door to disconnect the harness from the B-pillar area.

    Note
    Release the top clip at first, and then while pressing the top one, release the bottom clip.
  18. Remove the rubber grommet from the LH rear door assembly.
  19. Remove the clip bases (x10) from the LH rear door.
  20. Remove the LH rear door latch. See DOOR LATCH - REAR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  21. Remove the LH rear outer door handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the LH rear door check strap. See REAR CHECK STRAP (Remove and Replace).
  23. With assistance, loosen the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door assembly to the hinges, and then fully remove the bottom bolt, then fully remove the top bolt.

  24. With assistance, remove the LH rear door assembly from the vehicle, and place it on a padded surface.

Install

  1. With assistance, position the LH rear door assembly to the vehicle.
  2. With assistance, hand-tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door assembly to the hinges.
  3. Install the LH rear door check strap. See REAR CHECK STRAP (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH rear outer door handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH rear door latch. See DOOR LATCH - REAR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the clip bases (x10) to the LH rear door.
  7. Install the rubber grommet to the LH rear door assembly.
  8. Verify the seal is fully seated around the white clips.
  9. Secure the clips (x2) that attach the electrical harness connector to the door until there is an audible click, and then seat the grommet into position.

    Note
    Gently pull the harness to ensure the connector is fully secure.
  10. Install the harness clips (x7) to the LH rear door.
  11. Connect the LH rear door electrical harness to the LH rear door latch connector.
  12. Connect the LH rear outer door handle connector.
  13. Install the LH rear window closeout assembly up and into the LH rear door, and then install the datums that attach the closeout assembly to the LH rear door.
  14. Install the screws (x11) that attach the LH rear window closeout assembly to the LH rear door.
    4.5 Nm (3.3 lbs-ft)

  15. Install the screws (x2) that attach the LH rear window closeout assembly to the LH rear door.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

  16. Install the plugs (x2) that cover the LH rear window closeout assembly rail fasteners.
  17. Fasten the clips (x3) that attach the LH rear door harness to the LH rear window closeout assembly.
  18. Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear door pressure sensor.
  19. Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear window closeout assembly.
  20. Install the clip that attaches the manual latch release cable to the LH rear window closeout assembly.
  21. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  22. Close the LH rear door to check for gap/flushness.

    Note
    Adjust the LH rear door if necessary. Refer to CVIS for current specification.
  23. Open the LH rear door.
  24. With assistance, torque the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door assembly to the hinges.
    49 Nm (36.1 lbs-ft)

  25. Install the LH rear door outer belt. See OUTER BELT - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  26. Install the LH rear door window glass. See MOVING SIDE GLASS - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  27. Use IPA wipes to clean the area where the secondary seal will be installed.
  28. Peel back the adhesive backing of the secondary seal and position the seal onto the rear section of the LH rear door.

    Note
    Ensure the drain holes of the seal are at the bottom of the door. Ensure both edges are under the cut-outs for the inner belt seal and glass run seal. Ensure the open edge of the seal is facing the inside of the door.
  29. Firmly press the seal into place while removing the film from the double-sided tape.

    Note
    Ensure the seal is even all the way around the edge of the door. Align the seal with the positioning tape when pasting.
  30. Install the LH rear door inner belt seal. See INNER BELT SEAL - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  31. Release the LH rear door latch.
  32. Raise the LH rear window and close the LH rear door.
  33. Check the LH rear window for gap/flushness.

    Note
    Adjust the LH rear window with assistance if necessary. The gap should be 8.0 ±1.75 mm and the flushness should be 0.0 ±2.0 mm.
  34. Open the LH rear door.
  35. Close the LH rear door latch to allow the window height adjustment.

    Note
    Do not close the door with the window fully raised, as the upper bright trim will be damaged.
  36. Adjust the glass for access to the regulator guide blocks.
  37. Loosen the bolts (x2) that attach the window glass to the regulator guide blocks about half a turn to maintain the position but still allow adjustment.

  38. Adjust the front of the moving glass to achieve the flush target to the B-Pillar applique.

    Note
    Use a 5mm hex socket to adjust the friction pad to tilt the glass inboard or outboard. Turn clockwise to achieve outboard adjustments and turn counter-clockwise to achieve inboard adjustments.
  39. Adjust the rear of the moving glass to achieve the flush target to the quarter glass assembly.

    Use a 5mm hex socket to adjust the friction pad to tilt the glass inboard or outboard. Turn clockwise to achieve outboard adjustments and turn counter-clockwise to achieve inboard adjustments.
  40. Hand-tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the window glass to the regulator guide blocks.

  41. Release the LH rear door latch.
  42. Close the LH rear door.
  43. Check the LH rear window for gap/flushness.

    Note
    Adjust the LH rear window with assistance if necessary. The gap should be 8.0 ±1.75 mm and the flushness should be 0.0 ±2.0 mm.
  44. Open the LH rear door.
  45. Close the LH rear door latch to allow the window height adjustment.

    Note
    Do not close the door with the window fully raised, as the upper bright trim will be damaged.
  46. Adjust the glass for access to the regulator guide blocks.
  47. Torque the bolts (x2) that attach the window glass to the regulator guide blocks.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

  48. Install the plugs that cover the openings into the door.
  49. Release the LH rear door latch.
  50. Fully lower the window, and disconnect the window switch special tool from the LH rear door harness.
  51. Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  52. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  53. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Closures > Windows > Rear Left Calibrate, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  54. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  55. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
