FEM BRACKET - RIGHT HAND (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the front lightbar assembly. See Lightbar - Front (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the RH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the front fascia assembly from the vehicle. See FRONT FASCIA (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    Do not separate the valance, the grille and the harness from the front fascia.
  6. Disconnect the RH FEM harness connector.
  7. Disconnect the RH front pedestrian protection pressure tube sensor.

    Note
    Do not push down on the red tab. Pull it to disengage the lock, and then pull it again to release the connector.
  8. Release the harness clips (x2) from the RH headlamp.
  9. Release the harness clip from the RH crush can.
  10. Release 4 of the RH front wheel liner clips.
  11. Partially remove the RH front wheel liner.
  12. Release the RH front wheel speed sensor harness clips (x2) from the body.
  13. Disconnect the RH front wheel speed sensor connector.
  14. Remove the FEM bracket RH crash accelerometer sensor. See SINGLE AXIS - 480G - CRASH ACCEL SENSOR (Remove and Replace).
  15. Disconnect the RH headlamp connector.

    Note
    Pull the tab to disengage the lock mechanism, and then pull it again to release the connector. Do not press down on the tab.
  16. Release the harness clip from the FEM.
  17. Release the front harness clip from the RH FEM bracket assembly.
  18. Remove the harness from the RH FEM bracket assembly.
  19. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the RH FEM bracket assembly to the body.

    • 13 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  20. Remove the bolt that attaches the FEM bracket to the RH front fender.

    • 10 mm deep socket
  21. Remove the bolt that attaches the RH FEM bracket assembly to the FEM, and then remove the RH FEM bracket assembly from the vehicle.

    • 10 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Install

  1. Hand-tighten the bolt that attaches the RH FEM bracket assembly to the FEM.

  2. Hand-tighten the bolt that attaches the FEM bracket to the RH front fender.

  3. Hand-tighten the bolts (x3) that attach the RH FEM bracket assembly to the body.

  4. Torque the bolts (x3) that attach the RH FEM bracket assembly to the body.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)

  5. Torque the bolt that attaches the FEM bracket to the RH front fender.
    6.5 Nm (4.8 lbs-ft)

    • 10 mm deep socket
  6. Torque the bolt that attaches the RH FEM bracket assembly to the FEM.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

    • 10 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  7. Route the front harness through the RH FEM bracket assembly.
  8. Secure the front harness clip to the RH FEM bracket assembly.
  9. Connect the RH headlamp connector.
  10. Install the FEM bracket RH crash accelerometer sensor. See SINGLE AXIS - 480G - CRASH ACCEL SENSOR (Remove and Replace).
  11. Clip the front harness to the FEM.
  12. Clip the front harness to the RH crush can.
  13. Connect the RH front pedestrian protection pressure tube sensor.
  14. Install the clips (x2) that attach the RH front wheel speed sensor harness to the body.
  15. Connect the RH Front wheel speed sensor connector.
  16. Install the RH front wheel liner.
  17. Install the 4 RH front wheel liner clips.
  18. Clip the harness to the RH headlamp.
  19. Connect the RH FEM harness connector.
  20. Install the front fascia assembly to the vehicle. See FRONT FASCIA (Remove and Replace).
  21. Install the RH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  22. Install the front lightbar assembly. See Lightbar - Front (Remove and Install).
  23. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  24. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
