High Voltage Battery Assembly - Skid Plate - Rear (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Stands.
  2. Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Aero Shield - Middle (Remove and Replace).
  3. Use a clip pry tool to release the clip that attaches the LH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate.
  4. Use a clip pry tool to release the clips (x2) that attach the RH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate.
  5. Remove the lower bolts (x2) that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.

  6. Remove the upper bolts (x4) that attach the skid plate to the HV battery, and then remove the skid plate from the HV battery.

    • 13 mm socket

Install

  1. With assistance, position the skid plate onto the HV battery, then hand-tighten the upper bolts (x4) that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
  2. Install the lower bolts (x2) that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
    13 Nm (9.6 lbs-ft)

  3. Torque the upper bolts (x4) that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
    64 Nm (47.2 lbs-ft)

  4. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the RH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate enclosure.
  5. Fasten the clip that attaches the LH coolant hose to the rear HV battery skid plate enclosure.
  6. Install the mid aero shield panel. See Aero Shield - Middle (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Stands.
