Hose - Chiller To Battery - RHD (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the RH front door and fully lower the RH front window.
  2. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  3. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  4. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_VCFRONT_X_START-THERMAL-FILL-DRAINvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode:
    • Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Start Thermal Fill/Drain
    • Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Start Coolant Fill/Drain
    • Thermal ➜ Refrigerant System ➜ Start Refrigerant Fill/Drain
    via Service Mode Plus: Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Start Fluid Fill/Drain
  5. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  7. Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  8. Position a coolant drain container underneath the LH front of the HV battery.
  9. Release the clip that attaches the chiller to battery hose to the dash cross member.
  10. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Disconnect the HV battery manifold hoses, and then plug both hoses.
  12. Remove the fluid drain container from under the vehicle, and then lower the vehicle.
  13. Position a fluid drain container underneath the front of the vehicle.
  14. Remove the bolt that attaches the fresh air intake duct to the thermal beam (torque 4 Nm).
  15. Release the fresh intake duct from the studs (x2) on the bulkhead, and then remove the duct from the vehicle.
  16. Remove the LV battery from vehicle. See LV Battery (Remove and Install).
  17. Release the clips (x2) that attach the chiller to battery hose to the A/C compressor bracket.
  18. Disconnect the sensor on the chiller to battery hose.
  19. Place absorbent material under the car computer coolant connections to collect any spilled coolant.
  20. Release the spring clips (x2) that connect the car computer coolant hoses to the car computer coolant ports, and then disconnect the hoses.
  21. Plug the car computer coolant ports and car computer coolant hoses.
  22. Remove the chiller to HV battery hose from the vehicle.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  • Before installing the LV battery, perform a coolant vacuum refill. See Cooling System - Vacuum Refill.
  • After installing the LV battery, stop the thermal fill/drain procedure. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes):PROC_VCFRONT_X_STOP-THERMAL-FILL-DRAINvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode:

  • Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary.
