Reuse

Remove

  1. Inspect the vehicle for abnormal tire wear that might indicate the need for a wheel alignment. Note any findings.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Stands.
  3. Remove the HEPA filter. See Hepa Filter (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the wiper arm and blade. See Wiper Arm And Blade - Passenger (Remove and Replace) and Wiper Arm And Blade - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  5. Unlock the black tab to disconnect the washer hose.
  6. Release the clips (x2) that attach the RH side of the cowl screen to the vehicle.
  7. Remove the clips (x4), then pull away from the upper edge of the cowl screen to release it.
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the RH brace to the body.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratcheting combination wrench flex head 13mm
    • Tight-clearance offset (2098128-00-A, installation only)
  9. Remove the bolt that attaches the RH brace to the body, and then remove the brace.

    • 13 mm deep socket
  10. Remove the RH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Release the RH front wheel speed sensor harness clips (x2) from the front upper control arm.
  12. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the front stabilizer bar end link to the RH front strut and separate the end link from the strut.

    Counter-hold the ball joint while loosening the nut.

    If needed, use a pry bar to release the end link.

  13. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the RH front upper control arm to the knuckle, and then compress the ball joint downwards to release the bolt.

  14. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the RH front lower lateral link to the strut.

  15. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the RH front damper assembly to the RH front upper control arm mount.

  16. Remove the damper assembly from the vehicle.

    Note
    Push the lower part of the damper inward and release the upper part of the damper outward.

Install

  1. Maneuver the damper assembly into place.
  2. Install the nuts (x3) that attach the RH front damper assembly to the RH front upper control arm mount.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)

    • 13 mm socket
  3. Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the RH strut to the RH front lower lateral link.
  4. Install the bolt and a new nut that attach the RH front upper control arm to the knuckle.
    56 Nm (41.3 lbs-ft)

  5. Position the front stabilizer end link onto the RH front strut, and then install a new nut that attaches the front stabilizer end link to the RH front strut.
    98 Nm (72.3 lbs-ft)

    If needed, use a pry bar to help position the end link.

  6. Install the RH front wheel speed sensor harness clips (x2) to the front upper control arm.
  7. Install the hub jack adapter onto the RH front hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts (x5).
  8. Position and raise the underhoist stand to simulate the suspension at ride height.
  9. Measure the distance between the bottom of the fender and the center of the front axle to make sure that the front suspension is set to ride height. The distance should measure 461 mm.
  10. Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the RH front lower lateral link to the strut.
    106 Nm (78.2 lbs-ft)

  11. Remove the underhoist stand from underneath the RH front suspension.
  12. Remove the lug nuts (x5) that attach the hub jack adapter, and then remove the hub jack adapter from the vehicle.
  13. Install the RH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  14. Position the brace to the vehicle, and hand-tighten the bolt securing the RH brace.
  15. Install the bolt that attaches the RH brace to the vehicle.
    18.8 Nm (13.9 lbs-ft)

  16. Torque the bolt that attaches the RH brace to the body.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)

  17. Install the clips (x4), then press the both side corners of the cowl into the body to make sure that the cowl is correctly positioned on the windshield
  18. Install the clips (x2) that attach the RH side of the cowl screen to the vehicle.
  19. Lock the black tab to connect the washer hose.
  20. Install the wiper arm and blade. See Wiper Arm And Blade - Passenger (Remove and Replace) and Wiper Arm And Blade - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  21. Install the HEPA filter. See Hepa Filter (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Stands.
  23. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
