Stone Guard (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the cooling fan module assembly from the vehicle. See Cooling Fan Module (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the active grille shutter from the cooling fan module. See Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Install).
  3. Release the locking tabs that attach the radiator to the fan and shroud assembly, and then slide the radiator out of the holding mounts.
  4. Remove the thermal foam strips (x3) from the radiator.
  5. Release the clips that attach the stone guard to the radiator, and then slide the stone guard out to remove it from the radiator.

Install

  1. Align the tabs of the stone guard with the guide datums, and then install the clips that attach the stone guard to the radiator.
  2. Install the thermal foam strips (x3) onto the radiator.
  3. Install the radiator to the cooling fan and shroud assembly, and then fasten the locking tabs that attach the radiator to the fan and shroud assembly.
  4. Install the active grille shutter to the cooling fan module. See Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Install).
  5. Install the cooling fan module assembly to the vehicle. See Cooling Fan Module (Remove and Replace).
