Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace)

  • 2025-11-27: Updated the torque for the outside bolts (x2) securing the rear fascia diffuser to the body from 5 Nm to 4 Nm.

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the clips (x6) that attach the diffuser to the LH and RH rear wheel arch liners.

  3. Use a small flat head screwdriver to open the fastener covers (x2).
  4. Remove the center bolts (x5) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the body.

    • Socket 1/4in Dr. 6pt. Deep x 10mm
  5. Remove the outside bolts (x2) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the body.

  6. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the rear fascia.

    • Ratchet/torque wrench

  7. Release the tabs (x9) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the rear fascia, and then remove the diffuser from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the tabs (x9) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the rear fascia.
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the rear fascia.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench

  3. Apply a thin bead of Loctite 222 to the threads of the bolts that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the vehicle.
  4. Install the outside bolts (x2) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the body.

  6. Install the fastener covers (x2).
  7. Install the clips (x6) that attach the diffuser to the LH and RH rear wheel arch liners.
