Remove

Open LH front door
-
Lower LH front window
-
Move LH front seat backward
NoteVia UI > Seat Controls, Use steering wheel scroll wheel as needed

Open RH front door
-
Lower RH front window
-
Move RH front seat backward
NoteVia UI > Seat Controls

Open hood
-
Power off vehicle from center
display
NoteVia Controls > Safety > Power Off, Select Power Off button at warning dialogue box

Remove HEPA filter or big basin
NoteVehicle configuration may vary, W/ HEPA: 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot rear edge up past brake reservoir then lift up to clear frunk assembly, W/O HEPA: 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, 14x clips, Fold rear lip of base frunk forward to access forward cowl clips, Lift cowl clips to release basin bracket

Disconnect LV battery and first
responder loop
Note2x connectors, Release green locking tab, Press black tab then pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge

Partially remove LH front primary door
seal from body

Remove LH IP end cap
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs

Remove LH upper A-pillar trim
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs, 1x datum, 1x tether, Partially release trim at top edge then release tether, Pull trim inwards then rotate rearwards to release from IP, Tether may vary by revision

Remove LH lower A pillar trim from
body
Note7x clips,4x guide tabs, 1x push clip, Pull rear of lower A-pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release front tabs from carpet

Release LH footwell cover
Note2x magnets, 2x datums, Cover is attached to carpet
-
Remove LH knee air bag bolt
covers
Note2x covers

Remove bolts securing LH knee air
bag
Note4x bolts, EP10, 8.5 Nm, Discard after removal

Remove LH knee air bag assembly from
IP carrier
Note2x connectors, Peel back plastic film, Release airbag connector by pulling back both white tabs simultaneously, Avoid straining harness, Only one tab visible in image matching tab is on opposite side

Remove IP lower assembly from IP
carrier
Note13x clips, 1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm

Remove LH footwell duct from HVAC
module
Note1x clip, Pull LH footwell duct towards LH side of vehicle to remove

Partially release RH front primary
door seal
NoteFor remove RH IP end cap, RH lower A pillar trim, RH front B pillar trim

Remove RH IP end cap
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs

Remove RH upper A-pillar trim
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs, 1x datum, 1x tether, Partially release trim at top edge then release tether, Pull trim inwards then rotate rearwards to release from IP, Tether may vary by revision

Remove RH lower A pillar trim
Note7x clips, 4x guide tabs, 1x push clip, Pull rear of lower A-pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release front tabs from carpet

Release front RH cabin carpet cover
from RH knee air bag cover
Note1x connector, 2x magnets, 2x datums

Remove RH knee air bag bolt

Remove RH knee air bag bolts
Note4x bolts, EP10, 8.5 Nm, Discard bolts after removal

Remove RH knee air bag assembly
Note1x air bag connector, 1x connector, Peel back plastic film, Release by pulling back both white tabs simutaneously, Avoid straining harness, Only one tab visible in image matching tab is on opposite side

Disconnect glove box USB cable from
car computer
Note1x connector, Release locking tab then release connector

Remove clip securing passenger
footwell duct from IP carrier

Remove clips securing RH air wave duct
from IP carrier

Remove RH IP air wave duct from HVAC
module

Release driver air bag assembly away
from steering wheel
Note2x spring clips, 2x datums, Press the spring from two access holes to release, Access holes located at 4 and 8 o’clock position, Do not insert tool too far as air bag connector could be damaged

Remove driver air bag

Disconnect steering wheel

Remove bolt securing steering wheel to
steering column
Note1x patch bolt, 10mm hex, 80 Nm, Discard after removal, Counter hold the steering wheel when breaking bolt loose, need assist

Remove steering wheel

Remove steering column upper

Note6x clips, 4x tabs, Pull upward to release upper shroud from lower shroud

Remove steering column lower
shroud
Note2x screws, T20, 1.35 Nm, 1x clip, Slide rearward to release

Disconnect steering column control
module connector
Note1x connector, Remove and discard retaining clip, Clip designed to break upon removal, Ensure no debris remains in connector, Original clip is black, Replacement clip is orange

Remove steering column control
module
Note1x bolt, T20, 2.4 Nm, 1x clip, Loosen the bolt, not need remove

Remove IP service panel from IP
Note4x tabs, 2x guide tabs, 1x connector

Remove bolts securing center display
to IP bracket
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 16 Nm, Discard after removal

Remove center display from IP
NoteSlide towards rear of vehicle to remove, Place towel onto center console to protect display

Remove center display

Remove float wing assembly
Note17 clips, 1x datum, Replace damaged U-clips if necessary

Release bolts securing both sides
curtain air bag to body
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm

Position protective pad on IP
NotePrepare for removing wrap around assembly

Remove wrap around assembly
Note2x connectors, 16x clips, 9x tabs, Use caution to avoid damaging IP and windshield

Remove center IP speaker

Remove protective pad

Remove screw securing IP carrier to
cross car beam on upper LH side
Note1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x datum

Remove screws securing IP carrier to
cross car beam

Disconnect passenger airbag squib

Note3x connectors, Release each white tab at the same time to disconnect

Remove fasteners securing IP carrier
at passenger air bag
Note2x patch bolts, E10, 8 Nm, Discard after removal

Disconnect RH IP top pad harness

Remove screw securing IP carrier to
cross car beam on upper RH side
Note1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x datum

Disconnect RH IP speaker
Note1x connector, Lift IP top pad to access

Disconnect LH IP speaker
Note1x connector, Lift IP top pad to access

Disconnect LH IP top pad harness

Remove IP upper carrier from
vehicle
Note4x guide tabs, 2x tabs, Recommend assistance
Install

Install IP upper carrier to
vehicle

Connect IP harness connector to IP LH
side
Note1x connector, Gently lift the LH IP to connect the connector

Connect LH IP speaker
Note1x connector, Lift IP top pad to access

Connect RH IP speaker
Note1x connector, Lift IP top pad to access

Connect RH IP top pad harness

Install fastener securing IP assembly
to cross car beam on upper RH side

Install screws securing IP carrier to
cross car beam

Install fasteners securing IP carrier
at passenger air bag
Note2x patch bolts, E10, 8 Nm, Install new bolts

Connect passenger airbag squib

Note3x connectors, Ensure all connectors fully engage

Install center IP speaker
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x connector

Install fastener securing IP assembly
to cross car beam on upper LH side
Note1x screw, T20, 2.3 Nm, 1x datum

Position protective pad on IP
NotePrepare for installation wrap around assembly

Install wrap around assembly
Note2x connectors, 16x clips, 9x tabs, Be careful not to damage the IP and windshield
-
Remove protective pad
-
Install float wing assembly
Note17 clips, 1x datum, Replace damaged U-clips if necessary, Float wing may vary depending on the vehicle's build, Which could feature either Cosmos or Mineral textile

Connect center display to IP harness

Install center display to IP
NoteSlide towards front of vehicle, Remove towel from center console

Install fasteners securing center
display to IP bracket
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 16 Nm, Install new bolts

lnstall IP service panel into IP
Note1x connector, 4x tabs, 2x guide tabs

Install steering column control
module
Note1x bolt, T20, 2.4 Nm, 1x clip, Ensure SCCM is fully seated

Connect steering column control module

Note1x connector, Install new orange retaining clip to connector then install SCCM connector, Perform push-pull-push to make sure connector is seated properly

Install steering column lower

Note2x screws, T20, 1.35 Nm, 1x clip, Slide forward to engage clip

Install steering column upper
shroud
Note6x clips, 4x tabs, Ensure upper shroud is fully seated to lower shroud

Position steering wheel
NoteAlign the triangle mark on the steering wheel with the mark on the steering column

Install steering wheel to steering
column
Note1x patch bolt, 10mm hex, 80 Nm, Install new patch bolt, assistants may be required
-
Connect steering wheel connector

Position driver air bag
Note1x connector

Install driver air bag assembly to
steering wheel
Note2x spring clips, 2x datums, Position driver air bag onto steering wheel, Make sure that the driver air bag harness doesn’t get caught between the driver air bag and the horn mechanism, Align datums onto clips, Press down on one side of air bag until clip is fully seated, then repeat on other side, You should hear an audible click, Perform pull test on each side of driver air bag assembly, Confirm the gap and space between driver air bag assembly to steering wheel is symmetrical

Install LH knee air bag assembly onto
IP carrier
Note2x connectors, Ensure air bag connector is fully engaged, Apply knee airbag label over squib assembly

Install bolts securing LH knee air
bag
Note4x bolts, EP10, 8.5 Nm, Install new bolts

Install LH knee air bag bolt

Install LH lower A pillar trim
Note7x clips, 4x guide tabs, 1x push clip, Align guide tabs with body and harness bracket then push downwards to secure

Install LH upper A pillar trim
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs, 1x datum, 1x tether, Slide lower section of trim into slot on IP, Secure tether to body, Engage clips working bottom to top, Ensure primary seal rests over trim, Tether may vary by revision

Install LH IP end cap

Partially install LH front primary

Install RH knee air bag assembly
Note1x air bag connector, 1x connector, Ensure air bag connector is fully engaged, Place plastic film back over squib assembly

Install RH knee air bag bolts
Note4x bolts, EP10, 8.5 Nm, Install new bolts

Install RH knee air bag bolt

Note7x clips, 3x guide tabs, 1x push clip, Align front guide tabs then align slot with harness bracket and then push rear clip to secure to lower B-pillar

Install RH upper A pillar trim
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs, 1x datum, 1x tether, Slide lower section of trim into slot on IP, Secure tether to body, Engage clips working bottom to top, Ensure primary seal rests over trim, Tether may vary by revision

Install RH IP end cap
Note5x clips, 2x guide tabs, Pull the seal over end cap

Install RH front primary door
seal
NoteVerify seal is seated properly on all trim panels

Connect first responder loop and LV
battery
Note2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

Install HEPA filter or big basin
NoteVehicle configuration may vary, W/ HEPA: 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, W/O HEPA: 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, 14x clips, Secure basin fasteners then install basin cowl, Fold rear flap of base frunk back to access front row of clips to cowl, Replace any missing or damaged clips, Do not pinch washer line in between big basin and body
