Bolt and a new nut that attach the LH front upper control arm to the knuckle

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front brake shield (dual motor). See Brake Shield - Front - LH (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH front ABS wheel speed sensor harness to the knuckle.
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front ABS wheel speed sensor to the knuckle, and then set the sensor aside.

    • Torx T30 socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  4. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH front lower compliance link to the knuckle.

  5. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH front lower lateral link to the knuckle.

    • 22 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  6. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH front tie rod end to the LH front suspension knuckle.

    • 22 mm deep socket
  7. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH front upper control arm to the knuckle, and then discard the nut.

    Note
    Compress the upper control arm ball joint downwards to help release the bolt.

    Hold the knuckle to avoid failing.

  8. Remove the LH front suspension knuckle from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the LH front suspension knuckle to the lower links.
  2. Position the LH upper control arm to the knuckle, and then install the bolt and a new nut that attach the LH front upper control arm to the knuckle.
    56 Nm (41.3 lbs-ft)

  3. Install a new nut that attaches the LH front tie rod end to the LH front suspension knuckle.
    180 Nm (132.7 lbs-ft)

  4. Install a new nut that attaches the LH front lower lateral link to the knuckle.
    180 Nm (132.7 lbs-ft)

  5. Install a new nut that attaches the LH front lower compliance link to the knuckle.
    180 Nm (132.7 lbs-ft)
