Remove
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Open all four doors and lower all four windows.
- Move LH and RH front seat forward.
- Place the vehicle in Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
- Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
- On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Run, and then allow the routine to complete. , click
- On the touchscreen, tap to place the vehicle into tow mode.
- Perform Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
- Remove the rear fascia. See GUID-FF55B6F8-E257-4E77-B06D-3511D38E1426.html.
- Remove bolts securing rear stabilizer bar. See Rear Stabilizer Bar and Links - Stabar - Rear - 23.6MM X 3.5MM (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH rear brake caliper. See BRAKE CALIPER - REAR - LEFT HAND - BASE (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the HV battery rear skid plate enclosure. See High Voltage Battery Assembly - Skid Plate - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Remove bolt securing LH damper to rear

Note1x bolt, 21mm, 115 Nm

Remove bolt securing RH damper to rear
lower aft link

- Position coolant drain container under rear of vehicle
-
Disconnect RDU inverter inlet hose
from rear of HV battery and plug both ends
Note1x spring clip, 2x plugs, Coolant loss greater than 1 L will require vacuum fill
-
Release push clips securing RH rear
wheel liner to rocker panel
Note2x clips, Remove indicated clips and move liner aside for access
- Position coolant drain underneath RH rear of HV battery
-
Disconnect coolant outlet hose to rear
return hose and plug hoses
Note1x spring clip, 2x plugs, Use shop towel to clean any residue coolant inside RH rocker panel if necessary, Coolant loss greater than 1 L will require vacuum fill

Release clip securing coolant hoses to
RH shear plate
Note1x fir tree clip
- Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle

Put on HV insulating gloves and
leather over gloves
NoteMake sure to wear Electrical Protective Gloves any time Hioki tester is used

Remove nut securing RDU HV cable
bracket to HV battery
Note1x nut, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Disconnect RDU HV cable from HV
battery
Note1x connector, Release locking tab and rotate the release lever up to disengage the connector, Do not force the release lever up, Ensure the alignment tabs on the RDU header are not damaged
- Remove HV insulating gloves
- Place subframe lifting tool into position underneath rear subframe
- Connect air supply to subframe lifting tool

Raise subframe lifting tool to support
rear subframe
Note3x straps, Attach metal hooks at the end of straps to rings on subframe lifting tool and pull straps until secure, Lower the vehicle if necessary, Recommend assistance

Mark LH rear and RH rear subframe
bolts
Note2x bolts, Mark original location of subframe, Re-align during install, Can also mark subframe casting and subframe bushing to body if needed

Remove LH rear bolt securing subframe
to body

Lower subframe lifting tool to remove

Install LH rear halfshaft to drive
unit
NoteExercise caution to avoid damage to axle seal during installation, Carefully push the halfshaft into the drive unit until there is an audible "click" from the halfshaft stub contacting the pinion shaft. There will be a slight pulling sensation on the halfshaft as the halfshaft circlip locks into place, Pull on the inner halfshaft cup to confirm that the circlip is locked into place, Recommend assistance

Note1x connector, Make sure the connector lock is 90 degrees from the connector before beginning to secure the connector, Use one hand to support the connector while other latching locking tab. Once installed, verify that the latch is not damaged and fully secured in the latched position

- Install the LH and RH rear brake caliper. See BRAKE CALIPER - REAR - LEFT HAND - BASE (Remove and Replace).
- Install bolts securing rear stabilizer bar. See Rear Stabilizer Bar and Links - Stabar - Rear - 23.6MM X 3.5MM (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear fascia. See GUID-FF55B6F8-E257-4E77-B06D-3511D38E1426.html.
- Move both front seats to original position.
- Hold the brake pedal and tap Transport Mode on the touchscreen to disable the EPB service mode.
- Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Close the trunk by using interior switch.
- Raise all windows and close all doors.
- Remove the lift arms from below the vehicle.
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
