BRAKE PEDAL - BASE (Remove and Install)

  • Ratchet/torque wrench
  • 13 mm deep socket
Replace

Remove

  1. Remove cross car beam from vehicle. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - CROSS CAR BEAM (Remove and Replace).
  2. Slide pedal downwards to remove accelerator pedal.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
  3. Remove cotter clip from clevis pin on brake pedal assembly.
  4. Remove clevis pin from brake pedal assembly.
  5. Remove brake pedal assembly.

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 13 mm deep socket

Install

  1. Install brake pedal assembly.
    16.5 Nm (12.2 lbs-ft)

  2. Align brake pedal to iBooster rod and install clevis pin to brake pedal assembly.
  3. Install cotter pin onto clevis pin clip on brake pedal assembly.
  4. Install accelerator pedal assembly.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
  5. Install cross car beam to vehicle. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - CROSS CAR BEAM (Remove and Replace).
  6. Enter Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  7. Install the coolant bottle cap.
  8. On the touchscreen, tap Chassis > Steering > Calibrate Steering Column > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  9. Tap Chassis > Brakes > Brake Stiffness Test > UNBURNISHED > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  10. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  11. Move both front seats to original position.
  12. Raise LH front window and close LH front door.
