Lower Trunk (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2-Post Lift
  2. Use a small flat head screwdriver to open the fastener covers (x2), and then remove the bolts (x5) that attach the rear diffuser to the lower trunk assembly.

    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
  3. Lower the vehicle to a comfortable working height, and then lower the lift until the safety locks are properly engaged.
  4. Remove the trunk tub. See Trunk Tub (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the bottom foam pad from the lower trunk.
  6. Remove and discard the rear center bolt from the lower trunk assembly.

  7. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the lower trunk assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the lower trunk assembly from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the lower trunk assembly to the vehicle.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

  2. Install a new rear center bolt to the lower trunk assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

  3. Install the bottom foam pad to the lower trunk.
  4. Install the trunk tub. See Trunk Tub (Remove and Replace).
  5. Raise the vehicle, and then lower the lift until the safety locks are properly engaged.
  6. Install the bolts (x5) that attach the rear diffuser to the lower trunk assembly, and close the fastener covers (x2) .

  7. Lower the vehicle fully, and remove the lift arms from under the vehicle.
