Remove
- Remove the rear drive unit. See REAR DRIVE UNIT - 4DU (Remove and Replace)

Install the bushing removal tool onto
the gearcase bushing, and use cups L, F, A, and K to drive the bushing out of the rear
drive unit.
NoteAlways apply torque to the bearing side when removing or installing a bushing. Drive the bushing until the cup and bushing assembly is fully removed from the rear drive unit.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratcheting Combination wrench Fixed head 22mm
- Separate the bushing removal tool and gearcase bushing.
Install
- Set up the bushing tool to press in the new bushing.
- Turn the bearing-side bushing tool nut with a wrench until the bushing is fully installed.
- Separate the bushing removal tool from the rear drive unit.
- Install the rear drive unit. See REAR DRIVE UNIT - 4DU (Remove and Replace)
