Front Air Bags - Drive Airbag Harness (Remove and Replace)

Warning
Make sure LV power has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as Restraint Control Module, sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. Remove

  1. Remove the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the driver airbag.
    Note
    Pull the orange tab up to disengage the connector.
  3. Release the clips (x2) that attach the driver airbag harness to the airbag, and then remove the harness from the airbag.

Install

  1. Position the driver airbag harness to the airbag, and then install the clips that attach the driver airbag harness to the airbag
  2. Connect the electrical harness connector to the driver airbag.
    Note
    Engage the orange tab.
  3. Install the driver air bag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
