Replace

Remove

  1. Remove the 2nd row seat cushion. See 2ND ROW SEAT CUSHION (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH 2nd row seat assembly. See 2ND ROW SEAT 5 SEATER - 60 (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove center seat belt buckle harness connector from clip bracket.

    Note
    Pull up bracket end to release tab, and then slide backward.
  4. Disconnect center belt buckle connector.
  5. Use a clip prytool to remove center belt buckle harness clip from 60 seat frame assembly.
  6. Remove center belt buckle from 60 seat frame assembly.

    If the bolt is hard to remove, use an inductive heating tool to melt the adhesive patch material. Position the inductive heating tool coil around the bolt, and then heat the bolt for 20 seconds. Allow the bolt to cool down for 2 minutes, and then remove and discard the bolt. The inductive heater coil, bolt, and adjacent areas will be extremely hot.

    Persons that have a pacemaker or any other kind of electronic or metal surgical implant must stay at least 1 m (3 ft) away from the inductive heater while it is in use.

    Remove all metallic items (such as coins, keys, electronics, and tools) from pockets before using the inductive heater.

    Ensure that there is a properly-maintained fire extinguisher in the work area before using the inductive heater.

    Use the inductive heater in a well-ventilated area.

Install

  1. Install new bolt that attaches center seat buckles to the body.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)

    Make sure that the guide pin is aligned.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 3 in extension

  2. Install center belt buckle harness clip to 60 seat frame assembly.
  3. Connect center belt buckle connector.
  4. Install center seat belt buckle harness connector to clip bracket.

  5. Install the LH 2nd row seat assembly. See 2ND ROW SEAT 5 SEATER - 60 (Remove and Replace).
