Warning
Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat assembly. See 1st Row Seat- LH (Remove and Install)
  2. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Model YL / Model Y Performance) (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See GUID-7C9BD205-1B3C-4B4F-BFF2-8201DE94AAE4.html.
  4. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat cushion frame.

    TIp
    Protect the seat cushion from damage.
  5. Unhook the straps (x2) for the lower section of seat back, and move the seat back flap away from the underside of the seat.
  6. Disconnect the driver seat back heater connector.
  7. Slide the driver seat back heater connector forward to release it from the seat assembly.
  8. Disconnect the driver seat cushion heater connector.
  9. Slide the driver seat cushion heater connector forward to release it from the seat assembly.
  10. Disconnect the driver seat occupancy sensor connector and set the harness aside.
  11. Depress the retaining clip and remove the seat occupancy sensor from the seat underside.
  12. With assistance, release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion to the seat suspension.
  13. Release the clip strips (x3) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame at the front, inboard, and outboard sides.

    CAUTION
    Make sure that the seat cushion heater pad connector and the seat occupied sensor assembly do not catch on the seat suspension or frame.
  14. Release the hooks (x2) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame.
  15. Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion extender.
  16. Position the driver seat assembly in the upright position.
  17. Lift up the rear section of the driver seat cushion foam pad assembly, and then lay the seat cushion horizontally with the front section of the cushion attached to the seat cushion extender.

    Note
    When folding forward, make sure that the foam at the seat cushion extender will not be stuck and to avoid damaging the foam.
  18. Release the clips (x7) that attach the driver seat cushion foam pad assembly to the seat frame assembly, and then remove the foam assembly from the seat frame.
  19. Release the strap that attaches the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  20. Remove the Velcro strips (x4) and hog rings (x8) that attach the seat cushion cover to the foam pad, and then remove the cover from the foam pad.

    Note
    Be cautious while release the Velcro strips to avoid any damage on the foam pad.

Install

  1. Install the Velcro strips (x4) and hog rings (x8) that attach the seat cushion cover onto the seat cushion foam pad.

    Note
    Massage the Velcro to make sure the cover and the foam pad are perfectly fit.
  2. Attach the strap that attaches the seat cushion cover to the foam pad.
  3. Install the clips (x7) that attach the eat cushion assembly to the seat frame assembly.
  4. Install the seat cushion assembly onto the seat frame assembly.

    Note
    Make sure the rear section of the seat cushion are properly placed.

    Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly pass through the seat suspension or frame.
  5. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat cushion frame.

    Protect the seat cushion from damage.
  6. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion to the seat suspension.

    Note
    Pull the clips tight till the seat cushion cover is at a proper position for installation.
  7. Install the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion extender.
  8. Install the hooks (x2) that attach the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame.
  9. Install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame, and then fasten the clip strips (x3) that attach the seat cushion to the frame at the outboard and inboard sides, and at the front.

    Note
    Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly pass through the seat suspension or frame.
  10. Install the retaining clip that attaches the seat occupancy sensor to the seat underside.
  11. Connect the seat occupancy sensor connector, then secure the tabs (x2) to install the connector to the driver seat harness bracket.

    Note
    Make sure that the harness is not caught between the seat cushion and seat cushion frame.
  12. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat cushion heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the connector.

    Slide the connector onto the seat frame clip to secure.
  13. Fasten the clip that attaches the seat back heater connector to the seat underside, and then connect the connector.

  14. Return the seat to the upright position.
  15. Install the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See GUID-7C9BD205-1B3C-4B4F-BFF2-8201DE94AAE4.html.
  16. Install the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Model YL / Model Y Performance) (Remove and Replace).
  17. Hook the straps (x2) for seat back cover onto the seat cushion suspension.
  18. Install the driver seat assembly. See 1st Row Seat- LH (Remove and Install)
