1ST ROW SEATBACK FRAME POWER (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat assembly. See FIRST ROW LEFT HAND SEAT COMPLETE (Remove and Install)

    Note
    Protect the seat cushion to avoid damage.
  2. Remove the backrest blower. See Blower - Backrest - Front Seat - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the driver seat lumbar support assembly. See 1ST ROW POWER LUMBAR SEATBACK - LEFT HAND (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the headrest post guide. See 1ST ROW HEADREST POST GUIDE (Remove and Replace).
  5. Release tabs (x4) to remove the suspension plastic insulators from the seatback frame.

    Note
    Use a small flat head screwdriver to release the tabs on the bases. Replace the insulators if damaged.
  6. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Outboard - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Inboard - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove and discard the inboard and outboard bolts (x4) that attach the seatback frame to the seat cushion frame.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T50 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  9. Rotate and lift up the seatback frame away from the cushion frame.

Install

  1. Place the seatback frame onto the cushion frame for installation.
  2. Install new inboard and outboard bolts (x4) (1128435-00-C) to attach the seatback frame to the seat cushion frame.
    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Torx T50 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  3. Install the driver seat outboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Outboard - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the driver seat inboard side shield carrier. See Carrier - Side Shield - Inboard - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Secure the tabs (x4) to attach the suspension plastic insulators to the seat back frame.

    Note
    Ensure that the tabs are installed in place. Replace the insulators if damaged.
  6. Install the headrest post guide. See 1ST ROW HEADREST POST GUIDE (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the driver seat lumbar support assembly. See 1ST ROW POWER LUMBAR SEATBACK - LEFT HAND (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the backrest blower. See Blower - Backrest - Front Seat - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the driver seat assembly. See FIRST ROW LEFT HAND SEAT COMPLETE (Remove and Install)
