Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Open the LH and RH rear doors and lower both rear windows.
  4. Move the 2nd row seats forward and adjust the seat backs if necessary.
  5. Remove the 3rd row seat cushion and the 3rd row LH seat cushion bolster. See Bolster - Seat Cushion - 3rd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  7. Remove the 3rd row LH seat back panel assembly. See Panel - Seat Back - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the 3rd row LH seat headrest. See Headrest - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the 3rd row LH seat headrest inboard and outboard guide locks. See Guide Lock - Headrest - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the 3rd row LH seat escutcheon. See Seat Escutcheon - 3rd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the bolt that secures the 3rd row LH seat belt to the seat frame.

    • Torx T50 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Cordless 3/8in Dr Impact
  12. Partially release the 3rd row LH seat back trim lower retainers (x2) from the seat back frame.
  13. Remove the push clips (x4) that secure the 3rd row LH seat back shell to the seat frame.
  14. Remove and discard the nuts (x2) that secure the 3rd row LH seat head side air bag to the seat back frame.

    Note
    Do not use any impact tool to remove the nuts. Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  15. Remove the bolt that secures the 3rd row LH seat head side air bag to the seat back frame.

    Note
    Do not use any impact tool to remove the nuts. Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  16. Carefully pull the 3rd row LH seat head side air bag away from the seat frame.

    CAUTION
    Do not use any sharp tools to pry, as this may cause damage.
  17. Release the hooks (x3) on the 3rd row LH seat back, lift the seat back assembly upward and then tilt it forward to partially remove it from the seat frame.
  18. Route the 3rd row LH seat belt out from the seat back assembly.
  19. Remove and discard the bolt that attach the seat belt and disengage the location pin, then remove the 3rd row LH seat belt (3880811-C1-F) from the seat back frame.

    • 6 in extension

Install

  1. Install a new bolt that attaches the 3rd row LH seat belt to the seat back frame and engage the location pin.
    45 Nm (33.2 lbs-ft)

    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 6 in extension
  2. Install the 3rd row LH seat belt through the seat back assembly.

    Note
    Ensure that the seat belt is not twisted.
  3. Install the 3rd row LH seat back to the seat frame by fitting the lower section back into position first, and then pushing the upper part inward.

    Ensure the air bag strap is not pinched.
  4. Position the 3rd row LH seat head side air bag to the seat frame.

    CAUTION
    Do not use sharp tools to pry, as this may cause damage.

    Note
    Make sure the head side airbag mounting studs extend out of the holes in the chute.
  5. Install the bolt that attaches the 3rd row LH seat head side air bag to the seat back frame.
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  6. Install new nuts (x2) that attach the 3rd row LH seat head side air bag to the seat back frame.
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Install the push clips (x4) that secure the 3rd row LH seat back shell to the seat frame.
  8. Install the 3rd row LH seat back trim lower retainers (x2) from the seat back frame.
  9. Install the bolt that secures the 3rd row LH seat belt to the seat frame.
    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)

  10. Install the 3rd row LH seat escutcheon. See Seat Escutcheon - 3rd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the 3rd row LH seat headrest inboard and outboard guide locks. See Guide Lock - Headrest - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the 3rd row LH seat headrest. See Headrest - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the 3rd row LH seat back panel assembly. See Panel - Seat Back - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Connect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  15. Install the 3rd row seat cushion and the 3rd row LH seat cushion bolster. See Bolster - Seat Cushion - 3rd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  16. Move the 2nd row LH and RH seats back to the original positions.
  17. Close the liftgate.
  18. Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
