Front Coil Spring and Damper - FUCA Mount, LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Inspect the vehicle for abnormal tire wear that might indicate the need for a wheel alignment. Note any findings.
  2. Remove the LH front upper control arm. See Front Upper Control Arm - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the front upper control arm mount to the LH front spring and damper assembly.
    Note
    Place a towel to the side to prevent wheel liner scratches.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  4. Remove the front upper control arm mount from the LH front spring and damper assembly.
  5. Remove the isolator from the front upper control arm mount.

Install

  1. Install the isolator to the front upper control arm mount.
    Note
    Make sure both tabs are on position.
  2. Install the LH front upper control arm mount onto the LH front spring and damper assembly, and then install the nuts (x3) that attach the mount to the damper assembly.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  3. Install the LH front upper control arm. See Front Upper Control Arm - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
