Note
This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate activity to the Service Visit.

Reuse

Remove

  1. Set up the AC machine.
  2. Open all doors and lower all windows.
  3. On the touchscreen, tap Controls > Steering, and use the left scroll wheel to adjust the steering column fully outward and fully downward.
  4. Place the vehicle in Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  5. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  6. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Thermal > Refrigerant System > Start Thermal Fill Drain (Refrigerant only) > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  7. Remove the center console assembly. See 2.0 - CONSOLE (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See A PILLAR LOWER TRIM - LEFT HAND (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the LH footwell duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - DRIVER FOOTWELL DUCT (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the instrument panel lower assembly. See Assembly - Instrument Panel - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the RH air wave duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - AIR WAVE DUCT - RIGHT HAND (Remove and Install).
  13. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  14. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove air intake duct. See Duct - Air Intake (Remove and Replace).
  16. Recover the refrigerant system. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) (Maintenance).
  17. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the supermanifold to HVAC A/C line to the HVAC.

  18. Remove the wiper module. See Wiper Module (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the LH instrument panel air wave duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - AIR WAVE DUCT - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  20. Remove the cowl top foam. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - COWL TOP FOAM (Remove and Replace).
  21. Remove the cross car beam. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - CROSS CAR BEAM (Remove and Replace).
  22. Disconnect the J11 HVAC connector from the RH body controller and release the harness clip.
  23. Remove the blower motor harness clip from the cross car beam.
  24. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  25. Remove the bolt that attaches the HVAC assembly to RH side of the bulkhead.

  26. With assistance, remove the HVAC assembly from the vehicle.

Install

  1. With assistance, install the HVAC assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the HVAC assembly to RH side of the bulkhead.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Connect the blower motor connector.
  4. Install the blower motor harness clip to the cross car beam.
  5. Connect the J11 HVAC connector to the RH body controller and install the harness clip.
  6. Install the cross car beam. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - CROSS CAR BEAM (Remove and Replace).
  7. Replace the seal washers (x5) on the supermanifold to HVAC A/C line assembly on the HVAC side, and then lubricate the washers with ND-11 oil.
  8. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the supermanifold to HVAC A/C line to the HVAC.
    22 Nm (16.2 lbs-ft)

  9. Recharge the refrigerant system. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) (Maintenance).
  10. Install the cowl top foam. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - COWL TOP FOAM (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH instrument panel air wave duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - AIR WAVE DUCT - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the center console assembly. See 2.0 - CONSOLE (Remove and Install).
  13. Install the LH footwell duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - DRIVER FOOTWELL DUCT (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the instrument panel lower assembly. See Assembly - Instrument Panel - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the RH air wave duct. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - AIR WAVE DUCT - RIGHT HAND (Remove and Install).
  16. Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See A PILLAR LOWER TRIM - LEFT HAND (Remove and Install).
  18. Install the wiper module. See Wiper Module (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  19. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  20. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  21. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Thermal > Refrigerant System > Run Heat Pump Commissioning > Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  22. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  23. Install air intake duct. See Duct - Air Intake (Remove and Replace).
  24. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  25. Move both front seats to original position.
  26. On the touchscreen, tap Controls > Steering, and use the left scroll wheel to adjust the steering column back to original position.
  27. Raise all windows and close all doors.
