HVAC - Actuator 120 Degree (Remove and Install)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open all four doors and lower all four windows.
  2. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Steering and use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column fully outward and downward.
  3. Move the LH and RH front seats forward.
  4. Remove the center console rear end panel. See Console - End Panel (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attaches the LH and RH rear of the center console to the body.
    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Move the LH and RH front seats backward.
  7. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  8. Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the instrument panel lower assembly. See Assembly - Instrument Panel - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the LH and RH footwell ducts. See Footwell Duct - Driver (Remove and Replace) and Footwell Duct - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH and RH center console front side panels. See Side Panel - Front - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace) and Side Panel - Front - Center Console - RH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the RH instrument panel air wave duct. See Instrument Panel - Air Wave Duct - RH (Remove and Install).
  14. Remove the center console assembly from the vehicle. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove the LH instrument panel air wave duct. See Instrument Panel - Air Wave Duct - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the cowl top foam. See Cowl Top Foam - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  17. Remove the cross car beam. See Beam - Cross Car (Remove and Replace).
    Note
    It is not necessary to remove the LH and RH display support brackets from the cross car beam.
  18. Remove the air intake duct. SeeDuct - Air Intake (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the bolt that attaches the HVAC assembly to RH side of the bulkhead.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  20. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the intake actuator to the HVAC assembly, and then disconnect the connector.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 mm socket
    • Digital Torque Screwdriver 0.10Nm - 2.0Nm
  21. Lift up the fixing bracket and remove the intake actuator from the HVAC assembly.

Install

  1. Align the intake actuator shaft to the slot of the HVAC assembly, and then install the fixing bracket.
  2. Connect the connector, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the intake actuator to the HVAC assembly.
    1.25 Nm (.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 mm socket
    • Digital Torque Screwdriver 0.10Nm - 2.0Nm
  3. Install the bolt that attaches the HVAC assembly to RH side of the bulkhead.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  4. Install the air intake duct. SeeDuct - Air Intake (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the cross car beam. See Beam - Cross Car (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the cowl top foam. See Cowl Top Foam - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH instrument panel air wave duct. See Instrument Panel - Air Wave Duct - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the center console assembly from the vehicle. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the RH instrument panel air wave duct. See Instrument Panel - Air Wave Duct - RH (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the LH and RH center console front side panels. See Side Panel - Front - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace) and Side Panel - Front - Center Console - RH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH and RH footwell ducts. See Footwell Duct - Driver (Remove and Replace) and Footwell Duct - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Connect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  15. Install the bolts (x2) that attaches the LH and RH rear of the center console to the body.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  16. Install the center console rear end panel. See Console - End Panel (Remove and Replace).
  17. Move the LH and RH front seats back to the original positions.
  18. Adjust the steering column back to the original position: on the touchscreen, touch Controls > Steering and use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column.
  19. Raise all four windows and close all four doors.
