Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace)

  • 2026-05-27: Updated the torque values of the nuts (x2) securing the front aero shield from 5 Nm to 8 Nm.

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2-Post Lift.
  2. Remove the bolts (x7) that attach the front aero shield panel to the vehicle.

    • 4 in extension
    • Cordless 1/4in Dr Ratchet
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  3. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the front aero shield panel to the vehicle, and then remove the panel from the studs.

    • 3 in extension
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Replace

  1. Install the front aero shield panel to the underside of the vehicle, and then hand-tighten the nuts (x2) to temporarily hold the panel in place.
  2. Apply a thin bead of Loctite 222 to the threads of the bolts (x7) that attach the front aero shield panel to the vehicle.
  3. Hand-tighten the bolts (x7) that attach the front aero shield panel to the vehicle.
  4. Tighten the nuts (x2) that attach the front aero shield panel to the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

  5. Tighten the bolts (x7) that attach the front aero shield panel to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

  6. Lower the vehicle fully, and remove the lift arms from under the vehicle.
