  • 2026-08-14: Due to part changes, removed the liftgate camera and handle steps and added liftgate extension harness steps.

Reuse

Replace

  1. Install the tail lamp assembly to the liftgate. See Assembly - Tail Lamp - Liftgate (Model Y L) (Remove and Install).
  2. Place the vehicle in Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  3. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  4. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Driver Assist > Cameras > Clear Camera Calibration, select RearView in the Camera Selection drop list, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  5. Tap Driver Assist > Cameras > Update Camera, select BACKUP, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  6. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  8. Inform the customer that the vehicle needs to be driven by the customer to complete the calibration procedure.
