MOVING SIDE GLASS - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace)

Warning
The side impact airbag deployment depends on the rear door sensor's ability to detect a side impact from air pressure. Make sure that there are no uncovered holes in the rear door shells. Additionally, always reinstall plugs or tape when servicing or inspecting the rear doors and their components.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Enter Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  3. Remove the LH rear door inner belt seal. See INNER BELT SEAL - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the plugs that cover the openings in door for access to the bolts.
  5. Connect the window switch special tool to the LH rear door harness.
  6. Latch the LH rear door to allow the window to raise fully, and then raise the door glass so that the regulator isolator clamp bolts are accessible from the holes.
  7. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the door glass to the regulator isolator clamps, and then remove the door glass from the door.

    Note
    Lift the glass up and then away from the run channel to remove it from the door.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Inspect the regulator isolator clamps for glass splinters or other debris, and clean them if necessary.

    CAUTION
    Debris and splinters may damage or shatter the new door glass.
  2. Position the door glass into the LH rear door.
  3. Install new bolts (x2) that attach the door glass to the regulator isolator clamps.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

    • 10 mm socket
  4. Lower the window fully.
  5. Install the LH rear door inner belt seal. See INNER BELT SEAL - REAR DOOR - LEFT HAND (Remove and Replace).
  6. Adjust the door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Adjust).
  7. Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Calibrate the window. See Window Regulator (Recalibrate) (Module Reset/Reflashed).
