WASHER PUMP (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the front camera washer hose.
  3. Release the clip that attaches the front camera hose to the washer reservoir.
  4. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the washer reservoir to the front end carrier, and then move the reservoir aside.

    Be careful not to spill washer fluid from the reservoir.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Place an empty container into the front storage area.

    Note
    Make sure the container is clean and not contaminated.
  6. Open the washer reservoir cap.
  7. Pour the washer fluid out of the washer reservoir.

    Be careful not to spill the washer fluid.

    Note
    Remove as much fluid as possible from the reservoir.
  8. Remove the container from the vehicle.
  9. Pull the pump outwards to release the guide clip, and then carefully remove the pump upwards to remove the windshield washer pump from the windshield washer reservoir.

    Taking care not to damage the pump during this process.
  10. Disconnect the windshield washer pump connector.
  11. Disconnect the washer hose from the windshield washer pump.

    Unlock the black tab to disconnect the hose.
  12. Use a small flat head screwdriver to gently pry the end of the washer hose, and then remove the windshield washer pump from the vehicle.

    Take care of not damaging the washer hose.
  13. Inspect the grommet for damage and replace as necessary.

Install

  1. Install the washer hose to the windshield washer pump.
  2. Connect the windshield washer pump connector.
  3. Insert the tip of the windshield washer pump into the grommet in the washer reservoir, and then install the windshield washer pump to the washer reservoir.
  4. Move the washer reservoir back to its original position, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the washer reservoir to the front end carrier.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Fasten the clip that attaches the front camera hose to the washer reservoir.
  6. Connect the front camera washer hose.
  7. Fill the windshield washer reservoir with washer fluid.
  8. Close the washer reservoir cap.
  9. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  10. Verify operation of the windshield wipers and washer.
