Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Torque Specifications

Replace 1109741-00-E

Remove

  1. Remove the RH front seat. See 1st Row Seat - LHD - RH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Rotate the front seat to gain access to the underside.
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the tilt motor connector.
  4. Remove and discard the bolt that secures the tilt motor adjustment arm.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Torx T40 socket
  5. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the tilt motor to the seat frame, and then remove the tilt motor from the vehicle.

    Note
    Do not remove the other adjustment arm bolt.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 8 mm 12-point deep socket

Install

  1. Position the tilt motor to the seat frame for installation.

    Note
    Hold the tilt motor up and against the seat frame. Ensure the motor alignment pins are visible in the seat frame.
  2. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the tilt motor to the seat frame.
    7.5 Nm (5.5 lbs-ft)

    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 8 mm 12-point deep socket
  3. Install a new bolt (1109741-00-E) to secure the tilt motor adjustment arm.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

  4. Connect the electrical harness to the tilt motor connector.
  5. Rotate the RH front seat to the upright position.
  6. Install the RH front seat. See 1st Row Seat - LHD - RH (Remove and Replace).
